I think it could be interpreted any way you like. For instance, perhaps security is tighter because they expect more backlash and think it would kill all the hype for Blizzcon if it leaked (and this would then also be the reason for cancelled Q&A panel)

There are also some rumors Blizzard gave news press different screenshots, each with subtle changes to identify eventual leakers. Might be false, but that would dissuade leaks nontheless.

Usually, none of the devs would want to see the new expansion leaked, they even hate datamining. Blizzcon leaks pretty much always came from either 3rd party workers or some upsi from the media team.

the Remake/Remaster projects were majorly soured by WC3:R

D2R is widely regarded as one of the best remasters ever made and is critically acclaimed. Seems a little myopic to select only the information as you have, but broadly speaking I think your other options are spot on.

D4 would've needed an expansion announcement this con to build interest and alleviate some fears about its current state, even with seasons.

DI does have an expansion soon or whatever we're calling it--I haven't looked into its popularity or profitability, but I generally found it fun when I played. I think the internal fan dislike of it is generally louder than it is accurate that it's bad.

HS I can't imagine what they could even do next. I knew some people on the team that have since left and they all told me they were really reaching for ideas after a certain point.

SC needs to be reimagined in some other sort of game genre. This could be a real sleeper hit for them one of these years, but it looks like not this year.

The survival MMO seems weird to "announce" years ago and nothing since, and no representation at the con. We already know it's in the works so I can't imagine them trying to hide a panel about it. There is that hour after the opening ceremony but that could just be for people to buy merch and hang out.

From what I have heard, that team has been terribly mismanaged. I wouldn't expect anything from them for at least another 4 years.

Okay here's my official prediction slash bingo card checklist

• 10.3 won't have a new zone, but will feature Iridikron at a Titan Facility, who is trying to deactivate the planets defenses against cosmic threats, IE the Harbinger
• Vyranoth, kind of betrays us, in that she helps us fight Iridikron but takes that opportunity to deactivate the technology keeping the Elemental Planes in their own pocket dimension, much like how Koranos deactivated the apparatus that locked away the Dragon Isles in Dragonflight's opening cinematic. She does this not to cause destruction but because she sincerely believes the world was better without the Titans.
• This causes the old world revamp and is the setting of the new expansion. It's not a recreation of Kalimdor & the Eastern Kingdoms, but an entirely new geography as if the Titans had never taken the lands that became the elemental planes & removed them from the planet. It's not exactly like it was before the titans showed up because the Sundering & Cataclysm still happened. Existing kingdoms still exist but have been shifted. For example, Lordaeron, Amirdrassil & Silvermoon might be walking distance from each other in a way that none of those factions will be pleased about.
• Khaz Algar & Avaloren are other locations that was hidden away, now returned to the rest of the planet, but they are also merged with existing old world wilderness. Complete with new races of Dwarves & Rebellious Anti-Titan Keepers & Watchers.
• The theme of the expansion is "Cosmic Elements" in that this new version of Azeroth is thrown into new conflict with the coming of the Harbinger & Freed Elemental Lords. Iridikron expected the Titans to arrive to fight the Harbinger but they are busy keeping Sargeras imprisoned. Instead the Forces of the Necrolords & Naaru arrive to end the assualts on the Sunwell, World Trees, Incoming Void entities, etc. That's the idea, that each of the Cosmology Cosmic forces are represented as new Saviors of Azeroth, with The Naaru representing Light, Tyr representing Order, The Primus & Necrolords representing Death, & Vyranoth representing Life. Throw some Demons & The Harbinger in there & we have every cosmic force represented. Thrall is a major character who is fearful that even the forces pledged to help Azeroth might use this conflict as a pretense to take control of the planet.
• WoW Classic Cataclsym will feature the Abyssial Maw raid in addition to the original Cataclsym content. Abyssial maw was unfinished content during Cataclysm, now finished in the vein of how it was originally envisioned.
