*But in one small corner of the Emerald Dream, in a vast, deep
fissure, known to the druids as the Rift of Aln and believed to be
where the magical realm itself first originated, even the combined
efforts of the archdruid and the high priestess could not entirely
end the struggle. The Nightmare held firmly in that place, which
those of Malfurion’s calling believed bled into the Twisting Nether
and the Great Dark Beyond. Gazing into it, Malfurion saw it as a
bottomless chasm which radiated with primeval energies that even
he dared not investigate. Indeed, the very rift itself seemed halfdream, for it had a surreal quality to its expanse and to the
archdruid now and then seemed to ripple as if ready to fade or
change*
Damn man, why'd we have to have that schedule. Now i'm hyped for something that may obviously not be true.
But SoA acronym is one of the more believable leaks (due to D4 Spiritborn class being one hell of a guess if not) so my brain naturally wants to lean that way.
I wouldn't toss out the Rift of Aln when we are literally about to go into the Dream.
It would be incredibly funny if the next expansion is Lifelands.
At the end of the Emerald Nightmare raid wasnt there a void tentacle in a cave and a ghost-like Ysera would walk to it and dissappear?
Maybe it was subtle hinting all those years ago that after we go to the emerald dream, Ysera would somehow connect us to a void xpac
Have we actually thought about how this might play out story-wise?
It's clear the Void have been trying to infiltrate the Emerald Dream for a long time now. We don't know how the Fyrakk fight ends.
Given that we're potentially on the cusp of a potential void-based expansion, maybe something happens during the encounter that's going to join the dots. There's no way Fyrakk just falls over and dies with no consequence.
I honestly.. If this is it, I 100% should have seen it. Druid and Night Elf stuff is my jam.
Rift of Aln is a known lore location, Darkshore has been theorized to house a Titan facility with Earthen (We know it does, because there are Troggs in Darkshore).. We even discussed this in the thread a few hundo pages back.
I just never even considered the Rift of Aln because it's been a Old God thing.
But also, I don't think it would be related to Satyr.
Despite Xavius working with the Old Gods, Satyr are primarily Legion.
