Remember this little bit from one of the Shadowlands leaks? This was accompanying the early Shadowlands map that had Ny'alotha in the centre. Supposedly at that time N'Zoth was responsible and feeding souls back to Ny'alotha to reawaken the Old Gods.

One relevant point to the current discussion about Rift of Aln was this (When Alnir Riftlands was still on the Shadowlands Map):
"ALNIR RIFTLANDS: A crucible for the primordial energies that comprise the fabric of all realities, with portals to each one. Everything is spilling in and out of rifts. Source of void incursions on Dragon Isles and Emerald Dream."

I want to say I can't believe people still believe that. But even earlier this leak season someone actually still brought up the old expansion list hoax.

It's definitely fake, it's obviously so fanfic - it completely missed what the Shadowlands ended up being including assuming because there is "Shadow" in the name it must beconnected to the void thus Nyalotha in the center.

It hasn't been admitted to be fake.
It showed up on the internet 3 months before 8.3 was announced, 6 months before it was released.
We know Shadowlands went through drafts and rewrites.
Legion and early BfA lore pointed heavily towards a connection between the Old Gods and the Faction War Sylvanas started.
The map has a much more similar structure to the released SL zones than any other expansion before or since.

So it's possible this was an early proposal that was rejected somewhat early, and someone who had a picture of it decided to post it online for hype, even after it had been rejected.
