Do remember that even by the end of MoP people were tired of it, though it was the longest content drought in WoW’s history.

My point is end of the expansion people almost always get tired of the expac. Some of the ones looked back fondly on now were decidely less positive at the time of release.

This one can be safely ignored, tl;dr it's a renew and has been kicking around since 2017. Likely internal.

Rift of Aln does exist though. In emerald dream/nightmare. We fought xavius there in the raid. But as it's been said, likely just something internal as it's been owned for 4 years now

That was renewed right before Blizzcon? They could have made sure they got the domain way in advance so when this day comes they can actually use it before it's taken. Happens a lot.

It's a subdomain under battle.net and has been for years. Nobody else can register it, they own the entire battle.net domain.

The certificate has been getting automatically renewed around this time every year. There is absolutely nothing special or unusual going on.

iirc they like to use references from their various IPs for internal systems, networking, payroll, etc.

The chances of it being something non-Blizzard employees would care about is very slim.
