The ESO thing might be due to technical reasons, because the game has two different account types, steam and non-steam. And it's also on playstation, which is problematic considering xbox game pass.

They are seperate licenses. If they wanted to do they could easily do it for the GP version but they dont because it makes no sense at all. They ideally want people to subscribe to GamePass for the base version and then subscribe to ESO+ or wtv its called as well. The max wow will ever have in terms of GP integration is 1.) Cross promotion 2.) Some extended trial version...3.) Maybe one day the latest expansion.

That's true, but with how concealed this leak season has been I can't help but think they're going to announce something big, and having some kind of screw-up where there isn't a website for possibly hours isn't something I think they'd risk with an announcement like that

Most people sub to WoW for month or two at a time. When a new patch hits, they play for month or two, then they cancel the sub. And with the slow rate that Blizzard pushes out content, that means most players are only subbed like 4 months a year.

That is an issue game pass could fix. They would keep subbed 24/7 because there is other stuff to play once you run out of content in WoW. It's also an incentive to get new players/returning players back to WoW because it's tied to game pass.

I think MS should absolutely add WoW to game pass. There is no fucking way it would be a financial loss to them.

Yea, and tbh, MS is in a race to meet a quota of subscribers by 2030. Adding Wow's playerbase would be a good bump for them, and like you're saying the proposition of staying subbed is much higher because of the increased value of games. I personally play every new expansion for 3-4 months then move on to something else. I'd probably stay subbed if there's 100's of other games available to play.

I do have it right now for Starfield, but I don't sub to it all year around. If Wow was included in the package, I would be much more inclined to just leave the sub on year round. 180 dollars for all of that is worth it imo.

You know how many people buy 6 months sub packages because of the mount? MS goal is to get wow subs to also subscribe to GP moving revenue around only benefits the consumer not them and thats why it didnt happen with ESO and wont happen here.

So youll see cross promotions and what I could eventually imagine is that you get the latest expansion with GP but thats it.

But this is exactly the problem right? You're not some magical new customer who previously hadn't been subbed to either thing, you're someone already interested in both who might put in an extra few months. And in the mean time they've just taken a hard 30% loss on all wow subs, forever, and given the 30+ million people who are already subbed to game pass (potential customers who might buy a month or two full priced sub to wow) "free" wow access.
