It was the only Cinematic I did not watch live. I know multiple people who said the same thing. Blizzard really burned alot of people with SL and the Lawsuits. Dragonflight has, I feel, done a good job of showing they can still make a good game, now they just need to do it a couple times in a row.

Multiple friends have also expressed that they believe Blizzard has a pattern of good then bad and I can totally understand that sentiment. I'd bet good money that tommorow, whatever is revealed, is going to have a lot more traffic than Dragonflight did when it was announced.

but man, WoD's is just so good from a cinematic perspective (and look i watched the end orc cinematic from WC3 that many times...)

That is true Wrath/Vanilla/WoD are my absolute favorites all for completely different reasons.

What kind of cinematic do you guys want? One that presents a storyline, or more of a cinematic about the places we're going to and the new races/classes we're getting?

One that starts with Avalorn then a Goblin grabs the cam, shows off his mech, and we start having some fun with Ethereals and fighting Yrel or some shit.

I know what you mean. I really dislike the dragonflight one because it feels like they tried to copy riots style of "reaction cinematics".

The difference between Vanilla to WoD, and then WoD to now. Same time difference but so much more advancement in the first 10 years. Granted, more room to grow.

Legion had the best in-game cutscenes. Legion cut-scenes had millions views, which is something other expansions couldnt achieve.
This is the result of Legion having gripping story and characters. People had fun watching them. Cut-scenes being epic helped as well.

I am an idiot and was completely forgetting about Legion.

Anduin's Cinematic on the Broken Shore, the Alliance Version of the Broken Shore Opening, the Tomb of Sargeras Ending and the subsequent change ingame afterwards. Same with the end of Argus. Legion really did have some special cinematics. That is part of the reason I have held onto this belief that the end cinematic for 10.2 is going to be that dumb fucking tree breaking through to reality because it would be the first time we got a change like that in a cinematic in a while and it would be really cool to just see a giant fucking tree appear in the middle of the zone you are leveling in. Like imagine that.

Chances are low I’ll admit it’s just the most enjoyable one I’ve heard.

Naga and Artificers. Id like both, I’d prefer Naga (though they’d end up as more alts I don’t play), but I’m fully ready to be disappointed.

Hopefully for expac 10 and 20 years they go balls to the wall, I think they might, but it’s not a 10,000,000 sub game anymore. I’ll be cautiously hopeful.

Just please no Avelorn or underground zones.

They want a cinematic thats badass and cool. DF was a heartwarming tale of struggle to do ones duty. They want blood and thunder and shit. I cant disagree. WoD had story AND blood and thunder. Thats why 10 years later, WoD is still the best cinematic they have ever done.

Ideally I want Iridikron or a new villain narrating a feature trailer.

I'd like the Cinematic to be showing how we get to where we are going, in the case of something new. OR, in the case of a revamped world, a 'Best of' Overview of the World, kind of like a reverse Cataclysm where we watched all we love get destroyed maybe we see the world healing?

DF cinematic had clear purpose i can describe as "Hey, old guard and newcomers, look at this nice, warm and shiny world! You can spend some good time here and have fun riding the dragons!".
I dont know whether it worked or not, but this is the trailer i watched the least amount of times, like 3-4 times.
Classic/TBC/BFA ones i watched dozen of times.
WoD and WotLK i watched 50+ times, maybe even more.

Looking at viewership, im not alone in that feeling. I hope for 11.0 they cooked up story and character driven epic shit with epic music and goosebumps enducing ending.

Rejection of the Gift is probably the best in game cut scene they have created imo.

Funnily enough, for my 2nd place you have to go ALL the way back to 5.4. That Garrosh VS TZ fight was epic. And it has real consequences and stakes due to the Vale being corrupted.

I really don't care that much about the cinematic tbh. The DF cinematic was... fine for the most part. The problem is that everything about it was not explored in the game - or, if it was, was gated behind some renown grind/raid cinematic.

WoW (to borrow from another game) really needs a MSQ-style main quest to present all the lore instead of a bunch of disconnected activities that many players won't even do.
