I don't see how a purely visual update works. If it's just "look, we updated the buildings in flooded Menethil Harbor!", then it's just going to feel silly and pointless. If they actually update the geography and clean things up, then you're going to have loads of existing quests make no sense as they're referring to a world state that no longer exists.

A world revamp without updating the actual terrain would also still feel comically small with Dragonriding. They'd need to remake everything from scratch pretty much.

if they do a purely cosmetic upgrade ex: buldings, tents, lamps etc, they could get away without revamping the whole questline, but imo they have to completely redo it all, and i dont know how long that would take, knowing that they hired a f ton of people when DF released.

The thing about 5 levels versus 10 is that if they keep doing 10 levels each expansion they are back to needing a level squish sooner rather than later

(Remembering Titan Technology effectively uses stone instead of metal & silicon.) Oh my god Teriz pulled me around to fully expecting rock gryphons.

Leveling gives them a reason to have new quests but yeah.

They add new quests every expansion. That's why a post-timeskip EK & Kalimdor make sense for the setting of an expansion. Like I already pointed out, the new quests they do for that would become the leveling experience in the following expansion anyway.

For the record, there was another "World of Warcraft" leak on October 24th that also claimed the world would receive only a visual update. So that's one thing connecting these two leaks. Of course it's possible this "leaker" just saw the earlier WoW leak and decided to base theirs off of it...

The moment the opening ceremony starts or right before is when you start paying attention. If there is a press embargo it is likely set to the opening, which means all the info will be out there before the announcement is actually done. If there isn't, they might drop it all the moment the announcement is happening, which would be a first as well.

Which technically means, even though you may now what's next from WoWhead faster, just enjoy the reveal first-hand from the Blizzard itself!

The thing about 5 levels versus 10 is that if they keep doing 10 levels each expansion they are back to needing a level squish sooner rather than later

I don't mind Blizzard doing a number squish for ilevel/level/damage/hp etc every time we reach level 90.

It kind of makes sense given that the Algarians are essentially rock dwarves. Their mounts would probably need to be mechanical to carry them.

Definitely, some of us have to spoil the announcement for ourselves for work but if I didn't have to I would most definitely just have the stream on fullscreen and nothing else.
