I am pretty sure that the only times the last patch has been announced before the next expansion was MoP, WoD, and SL. MoP because it was a 9 month expansion, and WoD and SL because they only had two major patches.

I guess if you were a bit pedantic then I think there have been patches announced before the expansion announcement at Blizzcon. Still, I am pretty sure stuff like BfA was announced before we even fully got to know what 7.3 was.

If Vakthros is some super prison like some have speculated then he's a good candidate to pop up as the end boss if it becomes a megadungeon. I think he's currently locked away in some undisclosed location? It certainly looked like the tower became overloaded when Raszageth hit it with her lightning. So for all we know there's total chaos ensuing inside the tower while we've been dealing with the primalists and Incarnates.
BTW, and changing the topic, Ion has confirmed in a recent interview that the Brawler's Guild is coming back and staying as a permanent system. He seems to imply that it will happen in DF, but no confirmation. Also, he has confirmed that Siege of Orgrimmar's skips are coming within DF, and that orcs and the Horde aftermath after Sylvanas will be featured prominently in the future.
I just wanted to share this information because I have not seen it anywhere else. Link to the interview (is in Spanish):

Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.
Never made sense to me why the Brawler's guild didnt simply scale up in difficulty. Though maybe this is why it will become permanent, it will just stay at current level 70 in terms of difficulty, rather than being tuned for each expansion.
SoO skips wouldbe amazing though. Farming the shoulders and the mount is one of the slowest grinds there is. Even worse than the Dragon Soul bosses.

I wonder if next expansion will be announced at BlizzCon, or will Blizzard wait until next spring like they did with Dragonflight.
I am assuming a 10.3 happens.

I think it was my scenario so I'll repeat it. What if the arcane prison dimensions that the Blue flight uses originally had a central hub and that hub is Vakthros. Nowadays the blues access them individually but what if there was a central location were those dimensions were tethered?
Well, if they want to revive the Blizzcon, I'd say expansion reveal is a must. At least, it would make a lot of sense from the marketing perspective. Also, it'd fit into the narrative of a quick and regular content delivery.
So if the Blizzcon is to happen in late 2023, new expansion and 10.3 reveals taking place there seem pretty logical I guess
I am so ready for Xal to be revealed as the 5th old god
Ebyssian to be revealed as a traitor
Wrathion hearing titan voices and not void which explains why Sabellian didn't hear them.
Sabellian and wrathion both holding aspect powers
Alex dying because she's ineffective and very VERY biased against the black flight
Dragonflight was announced in spring because they didn't have a Blizzcon.
Blizzcon needs big announcements. Sure they could properly announce the new survival game they were hiring for, but I doubt it is far enough already. Or they could announce Overwatch 3 so we could finally get that PvE mode.
Most likely big announcement is next WoW expansion.
About the only thing i can get behind is Xal, and that's mostly because it's not so much being hinted as shouted from mountaintops.
And where is "Sabellian doesn't hear voices" coming from? Seems to me he finds them rather annoying and distracting. Maybe he can't understand them, but he very much appears to hear them.
What would be the point of that? She's very much the Bolvar of dragonflight. The Aspect of exposition if you will. And even in being that she fails by providing no real context to the story.
Not that the story of dragonflight really needed her at all, but killing her off wouldn't have an impact very much because of that. If we start killing off every ineffective character we are left with a fraction of what we have.
Chromatus is the definition of a mary-sue villain and feels like it was written by a five year old.
Galakrond might not be much more complex, but atleast it's not Chromatus.
Like, just read that description and tell me that's not shitty fanfiction-tier
Chromatus' body is enormous, far larger than even a Dragon Aspect's. It looks misshapen with its color of an ugly purple bruise on pale skin. In some places, bones are visible. Scales had fallen off, showing skin that was healthy and skin that was decayed. Each of the heads was a different color and seems to have something amiss with it: a missing ear or an oozing eye. In Thrall's eyes, Chromatus was not just a dragon, but such a dragon as might have been conjured by a Forsaken's worst nightmare.[10]
Each head of Chromatus has a brain that knows all the skills of its flight, and is able to attack as separate entities or act in eerie unison, with such furor that the entire blue dragonflight had become rattled and panicky.[11] Sometimes his wings would not bear him, yet the blue flight was unable to stand against him and the twilight dragonflight. His green head fixed Ysera with an intense stare, attempting to send the green Dragon Aspect one of her own nightmares. The bronze head can breath out sand. Instead of five separate hues from five separate heads, the flames the creature can spew are dark violet and far more powerful.
