WoW 2 won't happen. People are invested in their WoW 1 characters. WoW requires a huge time investment, that to just abandon that would be a huge loss. People don't want to abandon their character they played for 10/15/20+ years and have a history in their mind and a huge amount mounts and titles and transmogs. Abandoning all of your time invested into WoW and starting over from scratch in a reboot/sequel game would be demoralizing.

Honestly, now that I've had time to learn more about what the expansion actually entails, I'm definitely thinking those new "nerubians"—insofar as we're supposed to be convinced these things are nerubians—are going to be playable. I have to grant you credit for the Cassandra insight you displayed in an earlier thread about a potential nerubian race, since the only reason I can feasibly imagine them making these things look nothing like nerubians is that they wanted to make them playable. I think they look a bit terrible and I'm a bit baffled they didn't just make them a new aqir race exclusively associated with Xal'atath given they don't even look or feel like what they're supposed to be, but I can tolerate them more than the dracthyr. Definitely hope some have more spider-like facial features, though, because the face just looks jarringly generic and awful.

My speculations on the revealed expansion stories.
At the end of The War Within, Xal'atath succeeds in corrupting Azeroth into a Void entity, resulting in Azeroth being engulfed by the Void and the beginning of Midnight.
The heroes of Azeroth rely on the power of light to drive back the Void, and they use the Sunwell as a means to do so. And no matter what the outcome of that war, Titans arrive who realizes this too late: The Last Titan.
As expected, Azeroth is not inherently a Titan; the Worldsoul can embrace any of the six cosmic powers, and the current Azeroth is simply being Titanized because the Titans got to it first (or last).

Anyone seen if they are doing another boxed CE?

Could the Isle of Dorn just be a different name for Avaloren?
I'm personally not expecting a full reboot, with a new engine and everything in the old game left in maintenance mode. More likely, I'm expecting a soft reboot, with the whole world revamped and loads of evergreen content systems added. Make every world, every continent relevant some way. That's what I hope for, at least.
