No one would call this AI, since the armor is details are extremely intricate and AI cannot achieve that level of intricacy without botching up the details in an incoherent manner.

I tihnk it's a finale in the sense that FFXIV's Endwalker was a finale. Not over for the game/IP, but a culmination of the story to date that then allows them to move on to something new.

Eh, maybe 20%, the usual stupid people. It has too many clearly defined traits of his armor, newer hood design as a wanderer, and half-Shalamayne.

You'd probably hear a lot of "seems unfinished" due to the background simplicity. People would also mock it without context.

That's why I see it as a disregarding of SL.

That was trying to do a vast conspiracy culminating in the "end of a chapter" at the same time that Endwalker was coming out.

Chris comes up and says the same damn thing and it's a vast conspiracy surrounding the World Soul that's actually built over 3 games (and also probably builds more off Chronicle, the best thing they could've done for the game).

He may not SAY they're disregarding it out of professional respect, and it's obviously canon because Anduin is sad about actions he had no direct agency in, not to downplay the trauma impact, but c'mon people.

I find it makes more sense if you look at them like an expansion. You have the intro with a bunch of setup in a more standard area. Then you have the X.2 patch that gives some narrative breathing room by dealing with a B plot. And then finally you have the big finale that brings the main plot back from the initial bit.
The difference in this case would be that you have an "expansion" that presumably lasts 3+ years.

It is not the major war yet; it is the set-up for the major war.

The major war will begin in Midnight with the Void invasion of Quel'Thalas, and conclude in The Last Titan with the Titans' return and the reveal of the conspiracy.

As far as Isle of Dorn is concerned, from what is seen on the 1min trailer, I'd say that if you took out certain elements, then it looks like you didn't leave the Dragon Isles.

It's easy to say this after the fact, but looking at this I feel like I wouldn't have thought this was AI.

• You can tell that he's holding Shalamayne and I don't think AI can replicate it with that level of accuracy. It probably doesn't even know what it is.
• He's actually showing some emotion! Most AI cinematic fakes I've seen have the character looking at the camera with a completely dull expression.
• Just the level of detail is impressive, especially on the armor. I feel like AI would have messed up the lion head.
• Anduin with short hair and a beard is probably something AI can't do.

I dunno. I wouldnt immedaitely discount it like I did with the weird blue dwarf. This is high quality, but still has that recognizable WoW look that AI can struggle with. It's also an iconic pose, and clearly has thought put into perspective and what have you with blurring on the sword, etc.
I would be far quicker to assume this is good cosplay over AI in that case.

I think I'm a fan, tbh. Enough with the lore blue balls over the long, long years. It's about time we get a definitive end point for the various lore threads that have been cooking without resolution.

Yeah I'm really excited about all of this but Season of Discovery sounds like something else. I love that none of it will be tested before release. It gives me hope that it might actually capture the vanilla feeling of no one knowing jack shit about what is going on where.
