they just announced classic+
finally...home

Is retail honestly dead with Classic+?

People would put it next to the Arthas/LK in the same pose as proof this is what the AI based this on. They would claim that the artstyle isn't right. The sword is also rife for "obvious AI glitches" especially with the blurriness, the beard or hair as well maybe. Also the background is too plain, blurry, boring, whatever.

This is literally my exact thoughts. It feels like the first true filler expansion we’ve had. Much moreso than when people said that of MoP and DF.
It doesn’t help that the following two expansions sound a lot more interesting. It’s a double edged sword. If they announce War Within by itself, it’s incredibly meh. If they announce it with the other expansions it’s still meh but now you’re thinking about the other two expansions instead.
I appreciate that people see hyped, more power to them. The zones are beautiful and Xal looks great. My question is, why are you so hyped though? Knowing what we know so far. Also, the vast majority of this thread were actively shitting on an underground expansion during leak season, as well as one that would seem fairly light on features and system. Only for those same people to do a complete 180 (likely to do with the hype and Metzen, as well as shiny new zones) when said expansion was announced. It also hits all the points people were shitting on potentially getting Avaloren for - areas that are deemed and asspull that we have no idea about.
I’m not shitting on the hype, power to you if you are. I just want to know exactly why so many seem so hyped, especially considering the above paragraph.
I’ve seen a few say it feels like Warcraft. Does it? Not to me it doesn’t. It feels radically different to anything we’ve had before. Even SL felt more like Warcraft than this to me. Midnight and The Last Titan do have me hyped however and do sound like Warcraft.

Actually, I don't think many people would call it fake. You see, this cinematic still has a very distinctive flavour of the most recent WoW cinematics, particallarly when it comes to facial expressions, ESPECIALLY, when it comes to humans. It's not quite photo-realistic and yet still very high detailed to aspire for photo-realism.
I can't put my finger what is it, but it just feels like WoW cinematic. Of course, it might be my a posteriori assumption, but whenever I look at this Anduin, I can very clearly see it's resemblence to the Battle for Azeroth cinematic, whenever he pulls out his sword just like that while shouting "for the alliance!".
And based on that, I think it would be super difficult - and I'm tempted to say impossible (but I'm oblivious to AI image creation capabilities) - to prompt such image![]()

I wonder if we get Twilight Devestation as a rune.
I imagien the debate would have more likely gone to whether it's someone cosplaying, which is a more likely thing than AI in this case. And even then it's not quite photorealistic, and also massively detailed.
Also let's be honest. It doesnt show anything but Anduin being back, and I think most people could assume that he would be back eventually, and probably with a cinematic to announce it.
The world revamp dream will never die!

Classic is the best thing that could happen to retail and vice-versa.
It's the same revenue source, minus expansion box prices and mtx. Enough people will dabble in one or the other while the concept is fresh and shiny while the remaining holdouts do their hardcore thing. Both will be worth investing resources into.
Also this.
Cata Classic will probably kill future "[expansion] Classic," albeit Mists is well-regarded now. But is anyone gonna play, like, a WoD Classic? The people who liked it for the sole thing to love about it, because of the raids, already did them.
You're not wrong given the setting, but how would that even work? Just different voiceover lines and racials?
By that point they should just, yeah, as said above, unify and make subraces a thing.
Voice Type 1, 2, etc. And go ahead and take it off body type restriction while you're at it like most modern games.
