Reading the Augmentation article, they talk about how its a new playstyle, the whole supporting buffs stuff. That does kinda open the door now to other ideas (hope I'm not opening a can of worms here, heh). Neat stuff.

This will be a balancing nightmare, a nightmare for raid leaders and if chaining PI forced logs and ranking to reconsider how they work, an Augmenter would practically be required in your group. I just don't think it is a good idea.

The whole recent class freedom thing has been an unmitigated carfire in terms of racial identity save for the revision to orc priests.

Lightforged Warlock is the only weird one though. Old School Eredar/Highborne Warlocks, Feltotem, Grimtotem and Zandalari Demonaics should have been playable for a long time now.

Because right now, making Paladins, Druids, and Shamans more available is almost a guarantee. !

I mean after Lightforged Warlocks, nothing needs to make sense anymore

I do agree that a support style class will be challenging to balance around, but there's no putting the genie back in the bottle now.

Highborne warlocks are only understandable in so far as there are Night Elf mages, which were also a mistake.

Also mage revamp was absolutely needed. With rogues I don't think the issue is the talents, it's just undertuned.

I'd like actual lore/world building ideas to support the new race/class options, cause just doing it "cause freedom" isn't enough for me. I knew the third Evoker spec was coming though. Also that Galakrond skull tho.

Mag'har orcs being warlocks should jsut be literally impossible using Fel would turn them green.

It's the loggers job to make it work, not blizzard to cater to dumb people and their third party parses.

Only in extreme cases, I think.

Remember the player who's a Draenei Warlock or whatever could be the entire Draenei Warlock player in the lore. If this was WoD, it sure would be. So it's not like their entire society suddenly embraces fel magic.

So if we're just dealing with one character, I could think of a dozen ways in which that particular character isn't held back by whatever restrictions might affect the race overall. It's "the champion", after all.

Your character isn't hardwired to not be a certain class outside of certain extreme examples like Lightforged and Void Elves. They can absolutely do something that the rest of their society scorns them for.

Even so, there should be extra little details gameplay wise to justify this new addition. IMO even the most hardcore lore people could swallow it if such details were added.

I agree...but I don't think there's anything wrong with the trinity.
