There might be some flavored abilities (like Dark Ranger) but it's not class skins.
Yeah. I do think this is a messaging issue on their end, but a lot of people seem to be conflating it either with the popular concept of class skins, or even confusing it with SoD's skill system which radically alters specs. This is just a different iteration on what would be 10 new talent points with some flavor behind it.

Honestly of the whole announcement, the only thing meh to me is the Hero Talents... the list they showed is really underwhelming. I got my hopes up when I heard Far Seer, Dark Ranger, Keeper of the Grove. Thought they were going to cover all the old WC3 stuff + some long asked for stuff.

The fuck is Fatebound? Where is Necromancer? Tinker? Spellbreaker? Shadow Hunter? BLADEMASTER? HELLO?

    No we got.... Slayer..... Deathstalker?

I wanted these to be more cosmetic/spell FX. It's all boring numerical passives and mechanics.

Let down on this one, sorry.

I dont think they will ever release flying mounts that are not capable of dragon riding anymore going forward.

I really hope Ion misspoke when he said Vigor upgrades being carried forward. It's the part that makes Dragonriding the most boring, and limits fun abilities the most.

Gotta say after the initial features Trailer for both Classic and Retail I was a bit skeptical but in both cases the Panels turned me around completely. SoD looks amazing and I'm a very big fan of progressive leveling. On the Retail side Hero talents and Delves look like great additions.

Overall for WoW this is probably the best Blizzcon since 2017/18.

Thats just classic passives under fancy names.
Some of them do. The warrior ones they showed yesterday had lightning infusion vfx.

I expect that within a couple weeks we'll have the 10.2.5 PTR up and a roadmap, now that most players will have played through the Emerald Dream zone and many will have done the raid.
I think we are only getting 2 more patches after 10.2.

    10.2-Nov 8th
    10.2.5-Finale of DF- Jan 23rd
10.2.7-story bridge from DF to TWW with minor world content updates, plus fated season- May 7th
    11.0 Prepatch- September 10th
    TWW launch- October 8th 2024

    Alpha starting around mid April.

Class skins would be a cosmetic feature. There was no reason to assume Hero Talents were going to be that to begin with.

Why would that matter? They're player progression, not cosmetics.

Uhhhh, these are JUST THE NAMES. They have no influence over the talents in the tree. We all will be modifying existing abilities, as shown. Having Necro name wont magically make locks rise undead.

And they did confirm cosmetics, for example warrior tree making some abilities lightning charged.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

What we need is a proper Priestess of Elune mog in cosmetic or leather so we can just play it as balance.

Part of me thinks they picked a lot of shitty names for the hero specs so they could purposefully switch them to fanservice ones (Blademaster) for an easy win with the community.

I think yesterday they said there might be minor cosmetic changes to spells like adding a thunder effect to shockwave(?) but yeah, definitely a full "class skins" kind of deal unfortunately.

But you have to view this as the continuation of talent trees going forward - more cosmetic class customatization could still happen later.

You actually get that next season as a druid via lfr.

    Roadmap would look odd.

    Would just say 10.2.5 Winter 2024, 10.2.7 fated Spring 2024, Prepatch Summer/fall 2024 Xpac launch Fall 2024.

That's probably just something they didn't feel belonged in the tooltips since it doesn't change actual functionality. But i expect Elune's Chosen Fury to end with a visual bang on top of the mechanical one.

See, I'd argue having more Vigor to spend gives more opportunities for them to play with ways to spend it or different tweaks to how certain abilities work.

Case and point the Stormrider having the friction-based zip forward vs. the 3 cost barrel roll. Having too little Vigor makes it harder to play with those kinds of things.

You're probably going to need to re-earn your vigor for the tree in TWW zones anyway with Underground Glyphs. Otherwise it'll trivialize early traversal.

  19. #55019
Class Skins are an awful feature idea that provides nothing interesting. You're basically cosplaying as something rather than actually playing it.

Indeed. Blizzard somehow looked at GW2's Griffon, copied its mechanics, and then botched it. What made the Griffon fun was that it was very, very difficult to gain more height than you started with, and it was impossible to soar over most maps. So you got a little bit of height and would have to fly through the map and navigate the obstacles, whereas with Dragonflight you just mash spacebar half a dozen times to soar high over the dragon isles like regularly riding, never having to navigate the environment.
