If WoW would have "let's have another adventure" expac and only Classic news was Cata, Blizzcon would be disaster. Metzen carried whole thing, I don't think anyone else could sell this 3 expac saga concept.

Dragonflight really was a buffer expansion, huh?

More like break expansion. People completely forgot how done we were with "end of the world" expansions after Legion, N'zoth and SL. Also they basically sort out gameplay/system side of WoW, so in TWW we don't have fixes, just content build upon what we already have.

I'm especially concerned because I imagine they'll get some kind of dracthyr-esque lore of being the spehsulest, coolest nerubians EVAH!!!! instead of just being humanoid nerubians; I figure the lore either way is that they're some kind of hybrid between nerubians and the Arathi humans fighting them.

They did go into the lore actually - the humanoid nerubians have been 'evolved' by Xal'atath is exchange for pledging alliegance to her.

Makes me worried that the 'Nerubian Queen' we face in raid will just be... like, some Elisandre-esque lady. Instead of the big fat monstrous nerubian queen from the WoTLK artbook.

Re: Azshara, getting a real sussy feeling about Metzen's 'it all goes to shit' vibes about the end of Midnight. I could see Azshara not actually appearing until right at the end and being the catalyst that distorts everything enough to bait the Titans out.

Clearly. Unless the Sword doesn't matter until the Northrend Expansion, but I doubt that, considering thats a Northrend expansion. I am hoping the 11.0 patch zones are Under Silithus & all of Kalimdor (You realize Kalimdor is smaller than a standard expansion continent during the Dragonriding cups)

The Arathian zone is directly under the sword!

It is what they SHOULD do. And that means they are teasing Avaloren which may not happen for years. And let's hope we get more teasing in the years ahead.

Sounds likely; honestly, if they're specifically pledged to Xal'atath, maybe we'll get a very desirable bait-and-switch and it will turn out the evolved nerubians are all comically-evil void monsters and we get more traditionally spiderlike nerubians as a playable race when they come grovelling to us after they realize that everybody out of Xal'atath's inner circle is slated for extermination.

and WW has Delve, which is a new pillar of endgame like m+ going forward. it even has a track on the vault.

The pre-order mount already has a unique dynamic flying ability/mechanic, so they're definitely experimenting in this department already.

It's a really fun ability as well, changing how you maneuver, which is the kind of change I always wanted.
You could go directly somewhere and move slowly, or you could try to maximize speed by flying close to a wall, potentially crashing, or potentially gaining massive speed buffs.

The way they emphasised the term "Void Hunter" makes me fear that that will be our next class...

Probably one of the Hero Talent trees for Hunter.
My guess is Dark Ranger, Void Hunter and maybe something like Rexxar?

The only expansion I have ever enjoyed playing through its entirety was Legion.

The devs said they have a rebellion-type plot so it is likely a patches-long plot to recruit them.

tbh personally he doesn't 'feel' like a long-term character.. so far he's been more of a plot device than anything else really.
