Honestly, I think it's just the useage of "old world" that probably threw people off.
To the people who have wanted a world revamp of some description for a long time that phrase means world revamp, though coupling it with what I assume to be a joke on how long it has been since Silvermoon was relevant probably threw some people off as they took it more literally.
The world revamp dream will never die!
I think the issue is that you're not getting things you told yourself absolutely must happen. It's not that there's any issue with what is coming, but that your expectations were totally off.
Warbands and Delves definitely seem to be more significant features, too. Solo open world adventuring being recognised as an officiall progression track seems rather significant.
I dont disagree, I did try to keep my expectations low but metzen hyped me up :P.
Delves isnt a new feature really, is it? we've had similar stuff before and just to be clear, I fucking LOVE these, I think DF not having any of these "scenarios" is such a missed opportunity. I really look forward to having them as an evergreen feature, but again, not a big NEW feature imo.
Warbands is nice sure, but I pretty much only play 1 or at most 2 classes anyway so its not something big for me.
IIRC the elves that would found Quel'thalas landed in Tirisfal. They eventually started being affected by the whispers of the c'thraxxi general in Tyr's Tomb, so they migrated further up the coast and settled in Eversong Woods. I think the southern-most Quel'thalas settlement is a high elf tower on the north coast of Eastern Plague Lands or the ranger lodge in EPL.

Part of the reason is that Battlegrounds are like ducks.
I'm not sure why some people are under the impression we won't have full expansions. Just because there's a large overarching theme doesn't mean the individual stories in each expansion won't have a fulfilling narrative with several major content patches exploring areas and concepts we haven't been told about.
Hmm sad to see the conversation devolve into this. I believe the content looks good. People wanted Xal, they’re getting Xal. People wanted Nerubians, they’re getting Nerubians. People wanted Void and Void elf content, they’re getting it. Kind of wild that people are complaining.
Also, and those hero talents are going to be an incredible way to further customize your chosen class. If Blizzard can keep up with the patch cycle (as they somewhat demonstrated with Dragonflight) we got some good times ahead. I think it’s a time to celebrate imo.

The problem with these "big features" like f.e. Garrisons, Artifacts or the Heart of Azeroth is, that they may be big, but they are "throwaways" destined to be gone after one expansion. Blizzard currently is about introducing evergreen features, that can carry over multiple expansions, but for that to be attainable they have to be a bit more manageable in scale.
It's a product of the philosophy shift between the Legion-BfA-SL era to DF and beyond.
