Cata and Sod are probably gonna be really short or no info. They have emphasized the journey in SOD to the extent they aren't even doing PTR. Makes little sense to deep dive into it too extensively if that's the goal.

Well, two games at most, no? Classic and Retail. Since the panel is about World of Warcraft, not Warcraft in general, so surely there shouldn't be any Rumble talk

That this is it.

I mean, I've always suspected they weren't coming any time soon, but you always had that feeling that they'd get around to it eventually. Now, it seems like these are going to be the last 4 years or so of the MMORPG and that none of those things were around the corner.

It doesn't really make sense to put in all the effort to remake Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms and make an entirely new leveling experience so close to the 'end' of the story

Although I always expected most of these things to never come to fruition, this is probably the first time I've felt that WoW may genuinely not last long enough for them to get around to it
These 3 "mini-expansions" look like a speedrun of current story that was made without Chris Metzen, because they want to finish all this cosmic stuff about light/void/titans as fast as possible. And after that there will be some kind of reboot of WoW under Chris Metzen vision. Maybe even a WoW2 in some form.

This was already known from the opening ceremony TBH.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

I hope so too. The original reasoning they gave for not removing the restrictions hasn't made sense for a while now with people able to run around battlegrounds wearing yeti onesies and whatnot.

No 10.3. Probably fated, although they don't confirm it in the interview even when asked.
Hopefully DF is the last expansion with a fated system, because it is beyond lazy. I hope for the next expansions the fated season is replaced by an earlier release.

Kind of, yeah. But at least now it's spelled out properly for everyone.

Shouldn't as it's not called Warcraft: Deep Dive.

    It's Wow: Deep Dive

The classic panel was WoW Classic: What's Next compared to Wow: What's Next for retail

There is that. But now there is also the on obvious outcome of players who are dedicated to a single character who sees the cool Transmog they got, but who cannot use it because the correct class doesn't agree with them.

I am almost certain that this has set us on the path of eventually getting it. My only fear is that Blizzard knows that, but is holding it back for future patches or expansions arbitrarily.

What they said was about unlocking transmog not using it so it was simply people reading too much into it. I've no problem with them opening transmog options up given the mess of cosmetics blurring the class/armour identity they've used as a reason in the past for not doing it.

    I have the same fear.

Not to hate on TWW, but a lot of the features they announced were just QoL changes that people have been asking for for years. I still feel a bit weird about the decision to market account-wide progression as an expansion "feature" when it should have been a footnote in a patch in BfA. Same goes for the transmog acquisition changes.

Or as an 'in emergency break glass' moment as it is widely requested.

You would think this is something they could add right now if they really wanted to.

    They probably could.

I imagine we'll see the transmog changes applied in one of the "epilogue" patches following 10.2 since the implementation is easier (and they need to give people something to do while waiting for 11.0), but because they turned account-wide progression into a big flashy new "Warbands" feature, that'll probably arrive in the 11.0 pre-patch at the earliest.

That is obviously the case, but it still shows how much overwhelming support there was for the idea.

Account wide rep and whatnot at least makes sense holding back since it requires rethinking how reputation works in general.
All armor being eligible for Transmog is just an aesthetic choice for more customization options, like how they finally added the ability to Transmog one handed weapons into fist weapons to make them more accessible.

That'd certainly be the most optimistic interpretation of events! But Metzen's getting up there, and he's already retired once. I'd wager he's come back to see his baby through to the end and then leave again
