I guess they finally realized that .3 content patches for expansions rarely are worth the time and effort they put into them. Let's be real, the second year of each expansion is most often worn out, saw already a massive loss of subscribers and general interest for that expansion. It just makes sense to try to shorten that gap (somehow) and allocate ressources differently.

An expansion really doesn't need three content patches in my opinion, especially not when they only last for 18-20 months (which will hopefully be the average for the next three).

what if the crystal is the same kind of crystal that the Exodar and Xenedar were built around?

This shows that I don't pay that much attention to lore, but how is Xalatath in humanoid form?

    Agreed here. I don't think Iridikron cares about the Void. I think Iridikron made a deal with the Void which was essentially;

"I'll work with other anti-Aspect groups like the Infinite to help get you what you want, as long as you can promise that you'll bring the Titans to Azeroth."

Hands shake, they move on. Iridikron gets the essence of Galakrond in Dawn of the Infinite, gives it to Xal'atath (which we see in the features trailer) to use on the Nerubians somewhow, and then he allows Fyrakk to continue his rage to distract the heroes & the Aspects while Xal'atath gets to work and he lies in waiting.

The Fyrakk situation is a win-win for Iridikron; if he wins, he burns the World Tree and kills the Aspects and draws out the Titans even sooner... if he dies, well, he bought Iridikron time and distracts the heroes.

We'll see Iridikron make his move in 13.0, maybe with some Void magic (big nerubian rock dragon maybe) and quite honestly I think he'll kill a few Titans.

Already lowkey revealed by the level 13 dracthyr wearing leather in the Warband.

That has to be a mistake in the transcript of the interview... they don't mention Exile's Reach or moving away from that at all. I wonder how Forbidden Reach would work for all other classes? But I guess you're right, if Dracthyr get new classes, maybe Forbidden Reach has 2 parts; Evoker/Dracthyr and Dragonscale Expedition/All other Races version.

I think they already planned on him being a boss of "Northrend 2" as the book was all about that.

I think Dracthyr will either start at 10 or have a unique starting area. They can be the Dracthyr who were freed by the Healing Wings/Evokers and not the Evokers themselves.

That wouldn't be surprising, and I'll honestly commend them to making that decision to commit to what they think is a better longterm situation for the game.

I thought the same thing. It is possibly a mistake but then to also include learning flying quickly?

He also did say that the screenshots “looked like island expeditions”, maybe they could be delves? Idk

I'm wondering about something. Given that Midnight will take us to Quel'thalas for a Light vs Void storyline, wouldn't it make some sense to do something with the Exodar too? It is a naaru dimensional ship, after all. That way, they have a reason to fix the last openly accessible world zones that aren't flyable (don't care about exile's reach, gilneas, wandering isle, since you can never go back to those). Just an idea

Wait...his lair is actually in Northrend? That's funny.
Yeah per the scaleborn book. that with a titan culmination it makes sense to build to 13.0

They said that there would be other areas, but yeah it would make sense if they added in Azuremyst as opposed to another oc island.

We've known of a huge historical dragon presence there since wotlk. Galakronds corpse is there after all

We can imagine that they'll revamp Azeroth for 12.0 and Northrend for 13.0
(jk, they won't do it, never)

I think that'd be a great move by Blizzard. They really seem to want to redefine the Horde/Alliance dynamic even more, so moving past Exile's Reach into Forbidden Reach and making it a new evergreen start makes sense.

I think Blizzard also sees Dragonflight as a sort of staging ground, breath to take and move forward before the Worldsoul Saga. I enjoyed reading how Chris described it as a poem through which he was able to pickup a lot of inspiration for the future story, and I think in context it reframes a lot of my perceptions on the expansion. So allowing that to be where new players get a sense of how the world works isn't a bad idea, especially if the new theme for the next 3 expacs is "we are all hearing this noise in our head, we need to figure it out together". Less faction war more harmonious stuff I guess, but I don't mind it if it's being done intentionally.

The light crystal was probably part of the bargain between Light and Order. The Titans helped the Naaru stick a light crystal deep down there to channel light energy towards Azeroth. The bargain could have very well been that Order will help them create a "Holy Titan" to fight the Void in the final battle. What Order gained from this remains to be seen, but maybe they didn't think they could fight the Void on their own (see Sargeras) and needed the "Holy Titan" to ensure their ordered universe is not destroyed and their work undone.

But Void found out about this, and Xal is using the Nerubians to take this crystal for the Void and finally achieve their goal of making the "Void Titan," which would all but guarantee their victory.

Pfff... EK and Kalimdor revamp pre-WW gang (unrealistic but one can hope, I would gladly give a raid tier for that)

If they did that, they did it before DF released and probably before it even entered alpha.
