I wonder if "War Within" has multiple meanings, also referring to the internal struggles of people like Anduin and Alleria, and of course the worldsoul itself.

Also, might be a small part of it. But Island expeditions did very clearly show that there were Nerubian colonies away from Northrend, which were not followed up upon like the Mantid were. So even factoring in the proximity to Ahn'Qiraj, the Nerubians do in some way make more sense.

This, i like the "thousand yard stare" style they gave Anduin though.

Sidenote : I think its interesting we haven't seen the Arathi depicted at all. Unless I missed it.

The Blizzcon speaker specifically said they are keeping the Arathi mysterious for now. I'm hoping for a Vrykul tribe that will be an AR someday, but that's just wishful thinking.

Oh definitely. Great call. I think they will both lean towards the powers they're struggling within themselves at the end; Anduin will regain his sense of the Light and become some form of super Turalyon and I think Alleria will be used as a vessel by the Void in some way, especially with her connection to the Sunwell that was foreshadowed in the I think Nightborne heritage quest. I don't think she'll stay perma villain, but will be a Shadowlands Anduin type for Midnight maybe.

Extra points on the bingo board for the return of Sylvanas to help save Quel'thalas and Alleria in Midnight. I honestly wouldn't hate it. If Sylvanas is truly on some form of penance in the Maw, wouldn't the ultimate form of penance materialize in the ability to save Quel'thalas when she failed against Arthas?

So a few questions
Why Nerubians if the location is close to Silithus? Why not Quiraji?
How did Arathi end up there? Shouldn't they be close to Lordaeron?

The arathi apparently only recently(ish) arrived there under mysterious circumstances. Given that they worship the light and there is a giant glowing crystal that serves as a sun i wouldn't be suprised if they were guided by the light or even a naaru to set up a civilization there.


Also a bit offtopic; has anyone an idea how to get the new sargeras swords if you completed the travelers log early?

They look like regular humans in the zone preview but they are in the distance. but the dungeon guy looks to be kul tiran.

I think they will end up being proper Half-Vrykul in the end. So KT but not fat.

idk if this was discussed earlier today but now that they seemingly going back to Son of the Wolf comic - Anduin leading the new Army of the Light in Midnight, i wonder what happens to Turalyon and the throne?

Seeing the new Alleria art (with short hair and stuff), I'm getting the feeling that he will be offed sooner or later. Sucks, but better than him going evil for no reason.

I am terrified about the prospect that Alleria turns into Xal'atath in the future or something. Like, maybe this entire personal journey she's on is her falling deeper and deeper into the Void, culminating in her ascension as its Harbinger.

What would make that fucking cool, though, is if all those old N'Zoth/Varimathras/etc whispers weren't actually about Sylvanas, but her sister.

This has got me thinking if Iridikron was meant to be the tier 4 boss of Dragonflight, but then they decided they'd rather carry him over, cut the patch and focus on World Soul Saga. Seeing that Midnight is under development already makes me feel it wasn't a time related thing not to have a last tier in DF

Dawn of the infinites would have been a fantastic 4th raid. Murozond final boss and the ending being Iridikron escaping into that portal.

Yes, the continent/fissure is between Silithus and Pandaria.

We don't know what's up with Silithus yet but it was implied the Earthen have a way to go there that is currently inaccessible or broken (?)

Shit I liked Shadowlands setting wise, so it's whatever to me.

Shadowlands had a lot of potential. It is a shame covid fucked up the content cadence and the narrative team fucked up the most important storyline beats. It could have been great imo. Even the hook of tying arthas into something bigger could've worked imo, but they just fucked it up bad. comically bad.
