so dragonflight really is the beginning of the new philosophy of WoW going forward. Serving all types of players, removing friction, listening to feedback. Im here for it , lets go! War Within is looking incredible so far
I think people are wildly misreading the flavor on the hero class trees.
It's probably not going to be overly-centralized to a specific aesthetic fantasy, it's going to be mechanically.
Herald of the Sun will probably be more based around over-time effects, Consecration damage, Light of Dawn heal over times, Wake of Ashes. You can fit it with your idea of a Sunwalker or Sunwell focused Blood Knight, but that's not really the point.
There might be some flavored abilities (like Dark Ranger) but it's not class skins.
Hero talents need more time to bake. Luckily they have 10-12 months to finish them.
Tinkers will come in 13.0.
You always save the best for last.
13.0 is the conclusion of the epic Titan saga, and Tinkers are all about Titanic gadgets.
It is inevitable, it is the natural endpoint of the saga.
I feel bad for anyone who was expecting a 2024 roadmap yesterday or today, because it was pretty obvious from the start they weren't going to give us one.
A roadmap kind of ruins their 10.2 vibe, because it gives away everything that is happening starting this Tuesday. There's no reason for them to do it now... I expect that within a couple weeks we'll have the 10.2.5 PTR up and a roadmap, now that most players will have played through the Emerald Dream zone and many will have done the raid.
They really need to come out with the DF 2024 roadmap next week.
From all the things i was waiting to hear more, hero system sounds kinda boring as of now in functionality.
Other stuff that will cut the time wasted on redoing stuff is great, ui changes and such but im kinda disappointed by the hero stuff so far, hopefully it will just look and feel better when alpha opens up.
Yeah they are just minor damage increases with minimal mechanical changes. The big draw is the cosmetic spell color changes. Thats the cool part. The actual damage increases are boring, but fine for feeling more powerful while leveling up.
Overall Hero talents are a 7/10 for me. Decent idea. Cool to see new spell effects, but boring damage increases. If they launch like they seem I wont be mad, but I wont be that excited to earn them.
Do we think the Dracthyr leather deconfirmation was a troll?
Deep dive looked good, imo. Warbands look great and I'm glad they're going to retroactively add older reps as we go. The hero talents were about as expected, with them honing up the class fantasy instead of turning the class into a different class that might one day be something separate.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.
To add to my last post - there's so many varieties of a given type of class per race and they can't possibly do it for all of them.
Case and point, Mountain Thane. That covers, like, one race and some allied/sub-races? The idea is you're gonna do cool shit with Thunderclap, maybe Storm Bolt. It is not "the dwarf tree."
Class skins, even a soft version of them as the community seems to be interpreting it are never going to happen. The hardest part of making a new class isn't even the balance, it's the assets.
Yup. I'm as cynical as anyone but even I understand it's just not feasible.
that customizable mount from delves looks freaking awesome. wonder if it'll be advanced flying compatible
