The wowhead interview said they were giving the zones in 12.0 and 13.0 a facelift and it would be chromietime for old versions.

So I think we can kill the idea that there won’t be changes.

I had the idea that maybe the Naaru and their life-cycle are actually a small-scale representation of their bigger masters, Light Lords/ Void Lords. A Naaru is a being of light, but it can eventually fall to darkness and become a Void being.
What if the "Light Lords" and the Void Lords are just like that, but on a larger scale. A Light Lord can fall to the Void, and become a Void Lord - and the other way around as well. It would tie in with the idea that Light and Void cant exist without the other, because their masters are in fact one and the same kind of beings. And it would also fit with Xal saying that the Void doesnt see the Light and Naaru as enemies, but as "beloved brethren, who lost their path".

Would be an intriguing idea if the Old God constant war for supremacy was fought over on a grander scale by the Void and Light lords.

Would certainly bring a bit of spice to the likely case of N'zoth coming back to rebel against the Void Lords.

Well the staff from the latest Trading Post reward very clearly states that Dimensius gave it as a reward, seemingly for the Black Empire flourishing, so there is that.

Besides, C'thun and Yogg-saron and whatnot maybe, but I doubt N'zoth wouldnt know given his entire schtick is being extremely smart and schemind his way to victory.

Quelthalas probably will only get new zones in the form of expanded Amani Woods and void portal areas.

Northrend is weird because we don't know of any areas nearby it, but they will probably use areas introduced in War of the Scaleborn (like Harrowsdeep under ICC for the Iridikron raid)

What's the difference in redoing an old zone & creating an entirely new one? (Nothing. there is no difference.) They've been literally saying they wanted to redo Silvermoon longer than they've said they wanted to remake the old world. The implication is that we've only seen a few bits of the entirety of Quel'thalas. It's an island nation. Metzen literally used the word "islands" in his summary of Midnight.

Quel'thalas is two very small zones that fall short of even constituting a modern zone when put together. You can screenshot this post right now, Quel'thalas will be one zone in 12.0, that leads into to other, brand new zones, much like Isle of Dorn in 11.0 is a gateway into the actual "within" part the expansion is about. I have very few doubts that the first thing we'll do is push the void forces back to the portal and then go through it and the other three zones will probably be K'aresh or some other void staging ground for invasion.

No need, they already told us you're wrong and Quel'Thalas will get expanded.

They haven't been very good in recent years. But perhaps with Metzen back, they'll improve? I do like having them.
