Option one is just annoying and not a great solution.

People would still aggregate at one or two places, because that's what people do. even in times where capitals were relatively equal in terms of what they offer, people just hung out in the same cities.

I hope datamining reveals something really cool, because this is a disappointing announcement.

I find it kinda... what's the word, rude? I don't know. That they still won't just conclude the Night Elf home story arc. Stop teasing. Just give Night Elves some rest already.
Well we just got 10.2. It makes sense for .5 to be light imo.

All I'm expecting of the Gilneas quest is an "of Gilneas" title and MAYBE the gold recolors of the Worgen-themed sword/shield that is in the Warrior trading post set.

A mount, and/or an ACTUAL CITY, would be nice. But not at all expecting it.

so what are the chances the entire Gilneas quest will be encrypted on PTR?

    A solid 70%.

Night Elves already have their new home. It will probably be "done" once the Forsaken capital is also done and ready so both capitals can be launch at the same time.
Well let me introduce you to 10.1.5.

10.2 is meatier and more important than 10.1 so I can see why they shuffled the bigger 2024 patch to 10.2.7.

Sorry, people will still pick one place where they hang out. If every city will have same utilities, they'll just pick place that is closest to current content.

And IF 'somewhat matters for Alliance' because it was capital city during Vanilla, not Stormwind (because AH, later out of habit).

High. Similar thing with Forsaken and Undercity in 9.2.5 was encrypted.

    - Megadungeon

    - New class specialisation

    - Warlocks for more races

    - New events like Time Rifts

    10.1.5 was very meaty.

10.2.5 might be nice though, it depends a lot on the execution of all that story content.

    It's a nice QoL patch

You know, having any sort of respect for the universe you built should warrant multiple capital cities. Who cares if the majority will flock to just one? There's going to be people that use the others, and that should be enough.

I think money and dev time comes first over respect.

Which is why they made heritage armor sets so unique. And on top of that the majority doesn't even use them.

So imagine how popular would be capitals on the other side of the planet, away from main content.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

My point is that heritage armor proves that doesn't matter.

Pal, you are comparing an effort of creating few sets of armour to keeping several capitals up to date.

They have to do it only once though? Just add a portal to the newest place and you're done. Hell they don't even have to do that. Every time I go to the Legion Dalaran there's tons of people there.
