I mean, they are cutting a Major Patch from the product and reducing the production timeline for the live teams development to 18 months.

Meanwhile the main marketing beat is story which has always suffered when circumstances are less than ideal and changing the production from 24 months to 18 months is going to do damage during production and operation of the Live game.

Obviously, the Alpha and Beta embargo interviews might change the status quo. But, it is going to be an insufferable expansion.

I don't see why anyone would have hype until the Alpha/Beta embargo eases the worries about The War Within.

They've rugpulled us in Dragonflight and The War Within has the weakness of being the prelude to Midnight which will be the apex point of hype for the franchise. So a rugpull in 11.1/11.2 is totally plausible for The War Within.

But hey, I cope with Undermine I guess and continuation of cosmetic spam.

Timeless Island but South Sea Island, Arcade with Minigames, Pirate Themed event involving Nightsquall invasions.

Thats' about all I've meticulously come to the conclusion this has to be at this point.

I mean it could just be a quarter bag of pirate shaped chips distributed to our mailboxes when we login with majority being south sea air.

A 4th new zone that makes all the previous patch zones irrelevant?? In one expansion? That's like treating the game's biggest flaw as a feature: What's next? Buy your own chinese bot in the Trading Post.

Yeah, there is no change of employee numerical values? The only thing right now is the content cadence is DF/SL according to Ion and that they said at Blizzcon that 18 months is the likely goal going forward for live game time period until next box.

I think the triple feature was definitely in part because TWW is the only expansion that isn't a revamp, but I don't think they are being inherently lazier with it.

I don't think there's anything in interviews they can confirm about TWW that would make people that don't like it suddenly like it, outside of a completely new massive feature. It's a hate it or love it theme launch that will likely continue that trend with playable Nerubianoids and Undermine.

WoW always has potential though and even with this concept there's a ton of potential. But, again if its just a product that is in turmoil to the point the budget needs a hard look from above then there isn't much that can be done anymore.

The comeback can only be fueled by a short term costs incurred for long term benefit and revenue increases. Seeing the reverse occurring right now is mortifying, honestly. Especially with a Team going for the "Positive" route for PR and refuses to speak honestly as a potential environment going forward in the Alpha and Beta embargoes.

They also have the WoW Shop and instead of that they opted for the "6 month reduction in Production Timeline during Live Operation" and "1 Less Major Patch".

Avoiding the question like they did at Blizzcon during the Alpha/Beta embargo is a surefire way of recognizing the pointless nature of The War Within beyond the waiting room for Midnight.

Speaking of TWW, I just noticed that the TWW Alpha is right below 10.2.6. Could it be coming out this month?

Mystery patch + Alpha + Interviews is the combo they're going with, I suppose over March.

Although, I say that Alpha and Interview embargo could be in April.

You said something yes, but that doesn't mean that's the reason. They could have called it new race: Earthen and still have the unlock part to it etc. The point is flying over your head. It was a bfa feature, but why bring that term back, just for one race? it kinda suggest otherwise, knowing what the system was in BfA.

Because Allied Races are unlockable, and normal Races aren't? Is there a single Allied Race you just have unlocked from the get-go? No. Is there are a single race you have to unlock? No.

I don't see how having one Allied Race at launch means there has to be another one down the line? "Oh, they added Evokers, so they will add Tuskarr later because they can't only add one!"

This goes back to my criticism of the Blizzcon presentation: Why aren't they making short clips or screenshots of these things? That's what they used to do. Who approved it solely being a powerpoint presentation?

multiple sources have stated that the wow team was not affected by the layoffs. those who were laid off were community managers, people for customer support, people from activision, zenimax and the team for the now cancelled blizzard survival game.

I mean sure, some people will now argue with "don't take datamining too seriously" but it just takes common sense to see what's going on there, even if we didn't get the 999 cost on the mount before.

I don't care about mounts that much, unless it is a very fitting mount for the race i'm playing (horse for human, wolf for orc and so on). I also never understood the obesseion some have with mount collecting.

As long as the transmog is good, the pets and mounts i don't care for and are just nice bonuses to have for completing the log.
