you know, I remember the times before the expansion we had animated comics with sound, a book telling the story before the expansion, audio drama, character short stories, animated short stories. now it's just three animated short stories and that's it. I wouldn't be surprised if they give them up too.

Why you don't respond to what I say? None of this shit was during Alpha. We don't know what will they use to promote TWW.

They just posted a blog article about the Cata prepatch release date (April 30th). I really hope that's not it for the day.

Still BfA was more impressive than Legion. There was extra surprise CGI trailer (and more in following months) and they composed a whole freaking song for animated short.

But imo even more important is epic pre-patch like Legion/BfA, SL/DF were really bad.

Yeah I mean there isnt a huge appetite for Cata and they are aware of that...even the Blizzcon announcement had that vibe. The sooner it gets to MoP the better.

Catching up to retail could be most elegant way to end "rerun" classic. Cause otherwise what they can do? Leave it on random patch to rot forever? Close and delete people's characters?

I think the rereleases will end after MoP and they'll focus on Seasons.

Maybe, after all MoP and MD will share same max level (90), so it shouldn't be hard to transfer characters. I simply can't see them leaving Classic Era, changing Retail and... dead/finished MoP for some reason.

No. They said we wouldn't be able to transfer our characters, and they shouldn't do that with the current classic realms. I would love a "season of legacy" though that's made in mind with transfers to the real game, but allowing people to transfer removed items AFTER they said we wouldn't be able to do so would be super bad wtf.

I don't see why they wouldn't continue with WoD, just massively shortened to account for the drought maybe even just 5 or 6 months in total before Legion Classic

By making Cata Classic they have kinda shown their hand in that they need to give each expansion a shot, even if it wasn't massively well received. Even more so now that WotLK and Cata Classic was willing to make changes to make it more palatable.

Would be weird of they didn't honestly. MoP is far more highly regarded than Cata was. It costs them almost nothing to make MoP Classic, and all they would get for ignoring it is complaints.

I mean the appeal of it is declining. It's pretty clear that some version of vanilla is what the majority of that audience wants.I think MoP will do better than Cata but even that isnt gonna pull amazing numbers and whatever the current season of vanilla is will be vastly more popular.

Ummm ye? MoP is one of the most beloved expansions. The reason they speedrun Cata may very well be the want to reach MoP ASAP.
