I'm surprised by this and at the same time I'm not! Would I have asked for this? Probably not. But it does look like fun and I'll probably play it to get the rewards anyway!
It's cool they're trying fresh things in WoW
Speaking of which they said this was partially inspired by community discourse. Before Blizzcon people were expecting Pirates & storms. Pirate Storm was said a lot. But that wasn't very long ago.
Could they have really developed this whole thing starting in October? Or is it just the name?
By the way, if this comes back with multiple seasonal themes, do we think they will keep the pirate name and power themes or will they change it up?
A nerubian themed season would be really cool.
I'll be honest, as jaded as I am at times, this looks neat.
Unlockable spells in a BR format looks fun, doesn't look like you need PvP knowledge for this either.
You actually play in a "separate" game mode from wow, with its own created characters, wow.
Yeah they could change themes and it would be awesome!! I want a Scourge theme!! A Legion theme!!
If the system works they could add one every PvP season. But let us see how long the excitement lasts.

I have to agree with you and I am excited about the possibilities.
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.
Front page datamining is up. Cool things include Taivan (Bakar service dog) as a mount, a Shadowlands Wilderling (wolf serpent) mount that can Dragonride (so cloud serpents will be able to dragonride!!!) and a Zovaal themed mount.
Also tons of eyepatches and the S4 keystone mount is an Infinite Armoredon.
The biggest thing is the fact that they are implementing a "mode selector" into the game, which to me implies more such things in the future.
They wouldn't develop a way to do that for a one-time limited mode if they didn't have more plans for that.
I cannot see it being anything in-game because it just works completely different to the game itself. It really is a different game in the same engine using the same assets. And it definitely feels like something that can go console and mobile. (And that's cool)
Also the idea it would take about 160-200 matches to complete the event when it is FOMO . . . How long is a match supposed to be? Given there is an exploration element and you want to build up your character, it should be lasting 15-30 minutes at least right?
Wait, this is really cool. The Shadowlands meta got updated- it no longer gives you Veilstrider, but gives you the only non-Glad Soul Eater mount, meaning it's evergreen and there will always be a reason to do it!

Hopefully we get one of these achievements for Dragonflight!
