Let's just hope we get new customisations though, both Voidy ones and High Elf ones. Right now you can't really go far enough in either direction, I feel like.
I expect Green and Golden eyes for the Alliance Elves, since a group of Blood Elves are part of the faction in Telogrus Rift.

For just the High Elves, I predict Tattoo customization options in Midnight to truly lean into the High Elf/Woodland Ranger fantasy, as the Wildhammer tattoos did for the Dwarves.

As to actually differences void elfs have, different skin and hair tones are on par with the change from night to high elf, and I’d say growing tentacles or physically turning into a void spawn are far beyond losing some Hight/musical mass.
You know what fine, lets just say to make it easier to 'were'' high elves.

    They all were high elves.

On a side note, With all these added customization options you can do; no tentacles, light skin etc. There is barely any difference.

I expect these additions to come in Midnight, as it will be an expansion centred entirely in a standard High-Fantasy Elven Woodland/Forest.

For the Void Elves side of the playable race, I expect more freaky and weird hairstyles with tentacles and whatever-else can relate to the Void.

I am curious if they will split Helves into their own AR or not. They didn't add too much Helf stuff to to Velves and there are still plenty that don't use the void. They would also pair really well with Amani. But then they also seem to be going against faction races, unless they make them neutral (shitstorm) or they will see a return to some faction themes in TWS.

What would be fun is they add Amani, Belf and Helf druids that use the same models because they all hail from Eversong.

Well until the unstable matter that makes up there body turns them into beings of pure entropy.
Evil only wins when it spreads. It can cause destruction, it can cause death—but those are consequences of its nature, not its victory. Not its goal. The danger of evil, the purpose of evil, is that it causes those who would oppose it to become evil also.

Now that I think of it-- it's odd that Void Elves get High Elf customizations to essentially be interchangeable to the player, but Draenei and Lightforged are split into 2 races. At some point they need to just go core race > sub race. Select your faction, select your core race, select your sub race based on faction availability.

Actually, almost everything the Void Elves got since SL was stuff for the High Elf fantasy.

Fair skin, blue eyes, blonde hair, tentacle toggle, etc.

Void Elves didn't really get any exclusive customization option that truly screams "VOID ELF FANTASY".

So I do expect more tentacle stuff going into Midnight.

ARs have the racials, racial mounts, voicelines (pretty big deal IMO), starting zones, unique customizations (see LFD's unique jewelry) and other little gimmicks that keep them from just being barbershop. I think it's a big reason for why people want some ARs that are still just tattoos/skin colors and are disappointed when they become barbershop, like Man'ari (and even then they snuck in a little something like the fel gift of the naaru). It's better than nothing but it's still not as good as it could be.

(Broken is a big mystery here but the more they put them off the more it seems like an AR imo)

They gave Velf and Belf some Helf stuff that was really cheap, the skin tones and eyes. But there is room for a proper AR there and actual race stuff like unique customizations, druid forms and a new paladin charger (which would ofc get reused for belf) would distinguish them from a velf with white skin.

(By the way... if you want to get really conspiratorial, they will add Undead Paladins in Midnight and then do an HD horse for both them and Humans. Save that money!)

But how many ARs are just going to be a reskin of a core race with 10 independent customization options? At the very least they should share most of them.

Probably not many moving forward. Earthen if you count them, and then like Dark Iron their customizations only really work for them. I can see Helf and Arathi Humans being similar. But besides that we're about out of them.

If Druid of the Flame ever happen it will definitely be barbershop.

Honestly I wish they had just gone for subraces (and matched it with racial revamp).

I hope that we get those void elf weapons that were datamined a while ago.
I think most (if not all) of the old datamined allied race weapons were added except for theirs.

Forever crying that the red tint for Nightborne armor is no where to be found in game. Would love some more Suramarian styled armor in Midnight.

I don’t understand why they made so many tints for the allied races but just never added them. Except Mag’har they get tints because reasons.

Mechagnomes for example needed the two other tints imo because the gold doesn’t match the silver/rusted customizations they’ve got…

I hope they can add all the unused tints at some point in the future. They could even just be trading post sets, since we’ve got the Tauren totem recolors.

Oh all the different appearance sets from Pandaria are now in the sets tab, nice. I hope they eventually do this for all expacs.

    Calling it now;
Magister Umbric is the new Council of Six member.

There's a lot of discussion all over the place that it could be Aethas or Meryl, but they didn't have any reference to them added as NPCs in this build, Umbric was and his model is encrypted, and the Harbringer quest chain was also datamined and takes place in Telogrus. There's a portal in Telogrus with the Kirin Tor banner now.

He's probably getting a new model at the very least. Which is nice, dude looks horrible.

    The personal tabard is here!

I just wish they update it to use the updated tabard model/texture rather than the pixel flap from 2004.

Yeah Umbric being the new Council member makes very much sense. He is likely the most well versed in the Void after Locust Walker and Alleria, and we will have atleast two expansions with heavy Void involment, which is starting now before TWW gets fully on going.

Well the only editable tabard is the ancient Guild Tabard, so this uses the same system.

That said, they really should update Guild Tabards and the tabard editor.
