I wonder, will the new achievements be implemented today?

    its 2500 per renown.

So 5 matches per renown roughly. And each one is roughly 10-15 min (Though wouldnt be surprised if some run longer) so an hour+ give or take for one renown

So say you can only play on weekends for example, each weekend you'd need to play 8 hours of plunderstorm minimum to get renown 40 by the end fo week 6, hence why I really really really hope Blizz buffs renown and increases the event time.
They stated a lot of things in interviews before.

The patch is out in a few hours. We literally have some rough numbers that might or might not be accurate.

Some of those abilities in the previews seem cool, like the cosmic void ones.
I wonder if we’ll get some of these in the live game at some point.

    .
    That's not what they said.
The 500 per game was an estimate.

There are two rewards exclusively for match winners (the last player standing): a tabard and eyepatch. All other rewards are available to everyone through Renown. Each Renown level takes 2,500 plunder, with most matches awarding ~500. Each match should last 5-8 minutes and players can complete one quest per match, with no weekly limit. Although no end date is explicitly given, there are several mentions of a 6-week time frame, suggesting the game mode will end around the beginning of May.

"You don't need it do it all in one sitting," Salvatore said. "We don't want this to feel like you're required to play every single day for the six weeks that this is active."

The developers are expecting that casual players will require a couple of weeks of non-obsessive play to get all the rewards.

"This is a monumental undertaking for this experiment," Bartos said. "We are charting new ground."

That said, 6 weeks is absolutely way too damn short.

And quite an arse decision for me in particular, as i'm gonna renovate my flat in the next 2 weeks.
So no PC access for a couple days.

I hope that this encourages them to try newer game modes inside of the main game (with our characters). I guess I'm mostly hoping for some sort of expanded housing system that isn't just a clone of Wildstar's. Hell, maybe a Sandbox builder in a separate game mode a la Plunderstorm would be fun. A lot of potential here.

    STORMING???
Let's hope the datamining is wrong.

    You are thinking of Thundering.

Storming are the tornadoes that push you back.

I think this doesn't mean no more gamemodes inside of wow retall, it just means they aren't going to try and cram ill-fitting gamemodes into wow retail that don't really fit (see: Azerote BG BR vs this form of BR which seems to work better even if it's not the real game)

Ah sorry I thought it was the seasonal one from DF S1
    Yeah Storming was OK.

I kinda like that approach better. No longer forcing things that don't work in the main game, but giving them rewards for the main game. People who just want to play WoW for the MMO portions can stick to that, the rest can try out new stuff

Can anyone remember if the SL meta-achievement had a hard requirement of needing all the achievements on a single character?
Got most of the achievements on one of my characters, with the exception of the Cobalt Assembly one, which I am not keen on refarming.

Pirates as a theme is mid. Hopefully if it comes back, they explore other themes like ghosts and old gods.

based on the wowcast, i feel pretty confident that this will get extended or come back. It sounds like they made it temporary as a baseline so it could just have the plug pulled if it turned out to be trash. If people like it, i can see this becoming a pretty big thing going forward, maybe even with seasons like other BRs

    So, similar as with Dragonriding.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

I hope in the future they maybe use this as a means to revamp older zones and tie the lore in. Having a 2 pronged attack of Plunderstorm/WoW BR renown track and a campaign quest hub could be a really fun way to breathe life back into some old zones.

For instance... 11.1.6 Plunderstone variant in revamped Tanaris featuring Gadgetzan like Hearthstone, that could use assets from a hypothetical Undermine patch. Kajamite Plunderstone or something lol. Keep half pirates, half goblins.

Honestly they shot themselves in the foot by adding that Tanaris themed TP set so early, that easily could've been the reward for a Tanaris season. But then again that would require them to redo Tanaris, so it may never have happened.

I think we can forecast future seasons by popular, HD (Mists and onwards) areas they could use for BR maps. Vale, Suramar, Frostfire Ridge and Vol'dun (though Dazar'alor would be cooler and is more popular) all come to mind.

    It does look fun though.

Quite an interesting take on it too.

And the pirate mog is juicy, so definitely gonna work for that.
It looks like its almost a mix of something like Vampire survivors and Fortnite. Unless it doesn't work like I think.

You loot random spells from chests and level up. No run will be exactly the same with a bunch of random spells you can get.

I hope its fun. I dont even like pvp but im kind of excited to try it.

Interesting based on former devs on twitter - this event used to be something else and was changed/reskinned to be pirate themed after the fact
