Are we pretending to not know what a nerd is? The tantamount effeminate but not feminine man. Trying to describe it is like trying to describe a woman, or the sky. It's an archetype as ancient as the caveman. He's a nerd.

That's pretty much why I think it's a fake out. It's too much exactly what Ronin did. Khadgar is gonna teleport everyone to safety & leave himself behind, then Dalaran crashes & everyone assumes he's dead only so he can Gandalf the White at some point later into the Saga.

It was live on Monday/Tuesday-ish for the NDA'd press/creator preview, got closed afterwards, access revoked and now everyone is waiting for the public Alpha to start on the public Alpha/Beta client.

I was slightly positive before, but especially after seeing all the interviews and the attitude of the devs, I am pretty hyped for the future.

Blizz REALLY knocked it out of the ballpark with the Arathi gear. Good lord!

There's not a single average-or-lower looking thing that I've seen.

DF's gameplay and gearing system were already some of the best in WoW's history, so if TWW just brings a better setting, characters and stories on top of that gameplay it could become a top tier expansion.

    Durak is also ridiculous.
But, i can guess why they made him look like that. Hint: it has to do with the developer's self-love, wanting to project their image onto characters.
Where I can find Durak's model?
    I miss Mists of Pandaria

I'm also liking the looks of the WW changes to the Spec talent tree. Interesting that Serenity appears to have been removed and SEF has full focus as the power-up CD.

this is the boat that im in too. It's the first time in a long time that we're essentially picking up where we left off systems-wise moving into the next expansion. Tier catalyst, gear upgrade system, the new talent trees, new professions, follower dungeons, dragonriding etc etc etc. All of this stuff had the bulk of its work done for dragonflight, and none of it is being left behind. With that foundation of development done the efforts can be focused on additional evergreen stuff, as well as improvements to those foundations that dragonflight built

At this point the systems and features are set up in a way that you really just need to change out the setting and story at a good pace, and every now and then drop in something exciting like new races, classes and gamemodes. They are on track to do that and the new timeline will be really good for keeping people from getting sick of the TWW setting.

Dalaran (and the cursory glance I had at the Dorne questline) also are like immediate nods to the new tone shift of the story. The way the "main cast" is handled is still a little wonky but the stakes are higher and the tone is a little more serious/grave.

Magnaron were indirectly created by Aggramar so it's not at all a stretch to imagine that there might be something similar on Azeroth, but I can't even place where in the game this model might appear.
Necrobump but I think the Magnataurs and Genesaurs walking around are going to tie into Elun'ahir and be revealed that the roots are opening up an accessway to the Lifelands that isn't strictly ordered like the Dream.

Maybe we get a Hollow Earth that is even more primal and close to the core?

Hero talents are the anchor around this expansion's neck.

Or we discover at the end of the raid the nerubians captured him. Season 2 is about learning where he is held captive and why. Season 3 is about freeing him and finding out Xalatath is using his / his power to usher in the Voidlords onto Azeroth, and voila, you have your transition into Midnight.

I'd say at the end of TWW we tell him how the knowledge of Xalatath plans helped us free him, and he answers "I told you, Knowledge is Power".

Or only an after image of him survives the arrival of the Voidlords, forcing him to live out the rest of the game as a head in a purple bubble.

Really? Because it's basically the only thing worth getting excited about.

I doubt one new ability (if they even get one) and passives will kill most classes.

    It's Shadowland convenants, lite.
Always dreamt of being a dark ranger?
Too bad. You're survival or Pack Leader is the best meta spec.
Always wanted to summon a pit lord, mr. warlock? Well that sucks, cause you have to be a weird Satyr-themed spec instead because it does more damage.

They should just have been talents, not class fantasies.
And while I'm not the first to have this take, it is clearly spreading as folks look over the trees and consider their implications.

As friggin GameSpot put it : "While it feels like Hero Talents aren't nearly as impactful as Covenants were in Shadowlands, and are thankfully free to change or swap between at any moment, it does feel like the idea is fundamentally flawed and that new talents and unique class fantasies should be two separate things for players to choose."

are the argus "naaru" set recolrs as void versions

And the priest tier set is literally naaru inspired.

I'm calling it now again: The Radiant Song will be from a Naaru, not the world soul. A special Naaru. Either E'lune or An'she/Mu'sha. Could all be one and the same.

They really need to change the hunter trees to be boring with no fantasy because they are about the -only- complaints I see in regards to forced fantasy in hero talents.

You're pretending like this doesn't happen since day one.
Always wanted to hurl huge fireballs as a mage? Well too bad, frost does more damage this patch.

Here's an advice: stop being a meta slave and play whatever the fuck you like. If you can't, you have no right to complain.

Yeah I don't think it's the mechanical aspect of the spec changes, I think it's locking yearned for class-fantasies behind the "must pick this to be competitive" meta.
And before folks hop in and say "that's still a choice and players don't have to do this", I point you to the class/convenant break downs from SLs.
You think 70% of warlocks wanted a tree-faerie vibe?

If you're playing a spec with good talents, and they're going deep into the part of the spec fantasy you like, yeah, sure.

But if the first hero spec of your spec isn't good, if you don't like its fantasy, you're likely to play the second hero spec. And if it's bad, or if the fantasy isn't your kink either, you're left with two bad choices.

Making the hero spec shared by two specs is limiting, and limits the fantasy of the class. Lets say i'm a warrior. I wanna play fury, but i just wanna smash. No bladestorm or thunderclap. What's left ? Arms ? Or should i go Outlaw / Enhance ?

All it proves is that most people don't give a damn about class fantasy - or at least give more damns about numbers.
This is the game you play.
