ok next week alpha test or I'll crash
I'm legitimately surprised they're letting you obtain them for the other classes without making an alt of that class. Plus another thing people haven't pointed out is the MoP tier transmog sets aren't locked to that class: they're only locked to that armor type (and I hope they don't "fix" it) So a priest can finally wear the whole ToT warlock set, etc.
Having players be "required" to make 13 alts is a big ask. Even assuming you only need a week of casual play to get everything you would want from a single character, that still adds up to 13 weeks.
And yeah, no class restrictions on armour (besides the trading post sets) is nice. Won't matter much for my Evoker, but still a nice change in general. And it puts us just that tiny step closer to no armour restrictions on transmog, which is always welcome.

Yeah, but I also think while Plunderstorm & WoW Remix are limited time, they will eventually come back. I think it's their plan for these "event" games to be evergreen and have one going at all times, on a rotation. Considering 2000+ bronze is still a big ask even if more drops at higher levels. You're still not going to be able to get everything in one rotation even if you do or don't make a ton of alts.
If you add up all the transmog sets & mounts avaliable to buy in Remix, it's over half a million bronze. And that's just for this expansion. (I hope the currency doesn't get negated once the event ends. Let us save up for the next one.)

They will probably come back, but they are advertised as limited events thats only here now. Not something that will definitely come back halfway into 11.1.5 or whatever.
Besides, they might want players to have as few characters as possible to mitigate strain on the servers.

6 years seems too long, at least until they have more versions of Remix ready to go. Since it seems like they're also working on a TBC remix I think those three events will be on rotation during TWW: And possibly whatever that Vampire Survivors thing is. Maybe we get more in Midnight.
Say for example, MoP remix lasts until the pre-patch, at which point Plunderstorm comes back, & they test TBC Remix on the ptr during the TWW beta. That goes live a little while after TWW releases, and maybe they have something new during season 2 of TWW or they just go back to Plunderstorm. It's a good way to manage content droughts.
My prediction is that Remixes will last 8 to 10 weeks, while the other events like Plunderstorm last 6 weeks.

You know, maybe the sets being for TBC Remix has to do with Midnight being TBC themed. So it will come out after TWW in preparation for Midnight to remind people of TBC characters and plotlines.
i think it is a big stretch to call midnight TBC themed. It will not deal with illidan nor with demons, the two biggest factors. sure bloodelves were also kind of big. WoD was more TBC themed with being actual on draenor/outland and having native orcs and draenei factions and culminating with an TBC boss.
Is it just that elves & naaru will supposedly be involved in midnight? MoP doesn't have much to do with TWW. Plus I think remixes will come out faster than that. I think they chose MoP for the first one because it's the easiest for the sake of developing the minutae of the system, then TBC will be the hardest based on the timewalking curve for it's endgame has never been quite right. After than making Remixes for the rest will be easy peazy.
On an unrelated note I think it's very funny they give Timerunning characters the largest bags possible & the itemization in Remix is such that you will never even fill them halfway.

Strange Remix: Pandaria was announced a day or two after returning to China was confirmed.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.
I would be very surprised if there is gonna be another Plunderstorm/Remix before Fated of TWW. They don't wanna cannibalize their own retail playerbase during an actual season, and the only reason they are doing Remix/Plunderstorm now is because the majority of the playerbase is neutral towards negative in terms of Fated.
On the other hand a year before that ending the Netease partnership was considered wild within the industry & generally assumed Microsoft would reverse that decision as soon as they took control of activision.I don't think either actually takes away from the retail base; not the way classic does. If anything remix funnels people into retail & Plunderstorm makes people download retail which not having it on their computer is the main thing stopping classic players from also playing retail.
"Wow the playerbase is really quadrosected right now" is what I keep thinking but that's why I think it being a limited time event is really important. I think a lot more special game modes are coming. So that eventually maybe they only do Remix for about 2 or 3 months out of the calendar year.

I guess I feel like Remix has kind of a "diminishing return" in a way. Yeah, this time it's gonna be packed, but next time, I would imagine the numbers are gonna drop and drop (obviously assuming its gonna be MoP again). I just think Blizzard is gonna save it for the lulls, like Fated, rather than splurging their load while the numbers are up anyway.
Ideally, I would love to have Remix replace Timewalking weeks entirely, just make it last like three weeks, add a way to get Normal gear through it and voila. Specific Timewalking expansions are rare enough as is. But I can see why they wouldnt.
I think the 20th anniversary event is probably gonna be pretty big and might include some timerunning aspects.
