Looks great, although no npc's? So it's either on a sandbox or pretty early I guess?

It was genuinely surprising when it wasn't that. The mention of a webbed up Dalaran sounded especially fake.

But what if players gave Xalatath artifcats specifically designed to fight magic in SoD for the expressed purpose of attacking Dalaran 20 years later?

Given that Dalaran was destroyed in classic, that would be stupid.

There really doesn’t seem like any context that would make sense after legion unless it’s just like a false vision.

The giant cathedral in Hallowfall looks amazing for sure. Really hope we get either a megadungeon, or better still, a raid with that aesthetic.

The geometric courtyard/amphitheater thing is kinda weird looking though, IMO. It just doesn't mesh right compared to the architecture around it. Maybe it will look better from the player perspective as oppose to birds eye.

Was really disappointed when it was just the same dungeon again but with different bosses. I was sure that the floor would cave in after the first boss or whatever, leading into the Dalaran sewers or something.

They definitely had plans for the Violet Hold that went awry. I remember seeing stuff indicating there'd be a lot more to it, and the wiki page for it does mention how there's a breach in the floor when you go there in the Hunter class questline that's likely from an earlier version where more happened.

In that case, Dalaran delve? Dalaran is pretty small compared to modern dungeons, so maybe Dalaran can just be part of that dungeon, like the Everbloom. Are delves just MoP scenarios? The world may never know.

How? Especially because you act like Dalaran was impenetrable when it almost got destroyed in Deadwind Pass and the whole defense mechanism failed during the Mage Campaign.

Question is, how did the Nerubians get all the way up there.

I mean, it can all be easily explained. Back in Legion Dal was on the frontlines of the war, so it was packed with mages, defensives etc. This time it could be a surprise, sneaky attack using an unfamiliar magics, for example.

Also Xal could tip Nerubz off on Dals weak points, since it was freely paraded around in Legion.

Even a surprise attack would be dumb as we set up a ton of automated defences and wards against that sort of thing not to mention the likely hood of new races joining up like the night bourn with there “what are you using” spells at every step.

They’d have had to take like every thing we did in legion apart to justify it.

Definitely a strong possibility. Shame we never got to learn what those plans might have been, especially with the dark secret mentioned.

I think they mean context of how nerubians/spiders would be attacking it. Dalaran is in the air, the nerubians we are going to encounter live below sea level, in a cave which has 3 other zones/caves and an Earthen city between it and a theoretical placement of Dalaran (if Dalaran comes to Dorne). The only way I could see it happen is if Xal port's the nerubians up via void portals.

I mean, Void Portals are a thing, and we are getting humanoid nerubians anyway so they can just use some kind of flying mount.
