I'm guessing they have very low expectations for Cata Classic.
That or they just don't care because SoD has been so successful they are reapproaching that as the future of Classic

calendar also has mop remix ending on july 9th. so there are 2 end dates for remix on the alpha calendar. july 9th, and august 20th. perhaps prepatch + launch?
since they don't have annoying systems to work with they can dish out expansions faster then you'd think, i'd even say as early as mid august is possible.
I still think it's 23th September, cause it would be strange to announce Fall '24 on Blizzcon and change mind just month later while WoW schedule is really tight.
People say in Alpha there is 20th August end date for MoP. I could see pre-patch on that day, then 2 weeks later pre-expansion event (imo event should last 3 weeks, because early release take 3 days from week in US and 4 days in EU).
But there are 2 arguments for mid July pre-patch. First, they promised 2 month patches (of course making single 3 month patch at the end wouldn't be big deal). Second, if S4 will last as long SL version (12 weeks) it would land on mid July.
It's other way around, we factored Cata Classic into speculations and turned out Blizz doesn't care about it at all and release MoP Classic around same time.
Better argument for it would be TWW Beta that should arrive around late June and fill gap, but this is only for Epic edition. But aain, 3 month gap at the end isn't even big deal to begin with.
Yeah Holly basically said as much in one of her recent interviews.
We know it lasts till TWW pre patch. Pre Patch wont drop in July. It's probably just a placeholder for something(10.2.7 holiday event?) or a mistake.
TWW on the Roadmap is right at the end of summer/beginning of fall which is the last week of September work back around 4 Weeks accounting for a 2 Phase Pre patch event and you get the week of August 19th for prepatch launch. They are probably going to announce this relatively soon as well I imagine.

Except July doesnt line up with the roadmap at all(unless you believe they would do a 2+ Month prepatch) and May 16th lined up perfectly. They can let SoD breathe over the Summer and its all good.
Yeah its not a big deal at all. SoD level 60 is releasing in June they arent worried about subs for that period.

No its not reasonable. Because on the Roadmap TWW launch sits firmly on the border between Summer and Fall. The beginning of Fall is in the last Week of September.
There is also the fact that 11.0.5 seems to coincide with the 20th anniversary which is in November.
It's for sure no coincidence that working back 4 Weeks from the beginning of Fall gives you exactly the Week that Remix ends in the Alpha.
The book doesn't specify who collects the things though, only that these events need to take place. So "a dark heart left broken awaits the taking", if it refers to the artifact, makes more sense as the act of Iridikron picking it up, not giving it to Xal'atath.

Which would be rather anticlimactic. "Here's the thing we've shown you fifty times this expansion, and which you pretty much know by now is meant to carry out some evil Voidy deed soon. We call it... the Dark Heart."
Somewhere, Peter Griffin calls out: "He said it! He said the thing!"
The patch is meant to push the story forward and, I dunno. I just feels a little boring if that's all there's to it. It'd be more fun if she's being all Thanos, collecting Old God juice for her grand finale, or if there's some great betrayal.
The roadmap is nowhere near precise enough to really judge any of this. It has TWW spanning from the middle of summer to the start of autumn (not firmly on the border, it runs from the second M in summer to the A in autumn) and any time during that timeframe would fit it.
With the Remix dates on the Alpha, though, I can only see three real possibilities.
1: The prepatch launches on August 20th (the day after Remix ends). The pre-launch event and release follow in the next few weeks. However, that'd leave a gap for a couple weeks where there's no relevant content, so I think they might try to avoid that.
2: The pre-launch event starts on the 20th, with the prepatch itself launching before Remix ends. The ideal situation imo, since that avoids a content gap and lets players do the event content on their new characters if they want.
3. The expansion itself launches on August 20th, with Remix characters going directly into it and the pre-launch event running alongside Remix. Would be great for those of us who have already been playing Dragonflight, but the returning players they want to draw back in with Remix- who are encouraged to bring these new characters into TWW- would miss out on the event entirely unless there's an option to transfer over early. I wouldn't have even considered this before today, but given how many things Remix's launch is overlapping with, I'm not sure it can be ruled out entirely.
Of course, all of this assumes TWW is finished on schedule. If they end up needing extra time, it could obviously change whatever plans they have internally.
I would rule out August 20th for TWW release just because of Gamescom. Its a bit of attention there and maybe Blizzard is there on a huge Microsoft booth.
Also the last 2 times an Expansion launched around Gamescom it was never the week of it. Instead it was one week later with Legion and one week before with BfA.
So my guess would be 27th if the pre-patch launches while Remix is still going.
Pre-patch on the 20th could still be possible if it comes this late. Also with Remix possibly ending on the 19th it would leave a week do to pre-patch event for new transfered characters if pre-patch launches while Remix is active.
