Well, that's what you get if you just skip through the quests. You're there because the Aspects invited you over. And you're coming as part of a research expedition, which explains the pictures and climbing. Most of the rest happened after we arrived on the Isles.

Meanwhile, in TBC we went to Outland because somebody left the door open and beat up Illidan because A'dal promised us purplez... or something. About half the raids made no lick of sense, least of all Hyjal which didn't even have any kind of explanation. It was just there for some reason.

The epithet of An’shuul (“The Cosmic Wanderer”) sounds similar to the Phantom Stranger from DC

Do any YouTubers like him do anything other than recap the findings of threads like these?

This is what this thread should look like.
It is what the thread has historically looked like when there wasn't as much back and forth bickering.

I have no issue with informative YouTubers. I simply don’t watch YouTubers whose primary goal is to manipulate the YouTube algorithm. They just suck up your time with extraneous babble and sponsorships with the potential to reveal a nugget of information that might’ve taken 20 seconds to cover.

Honestly I'd just like them to be mountain-sized crystals just floating in Light. Think Worldstone from Diablo.

I... haven't played Diablo, so I had to look that up.
It does sound like a good idea, but I think I'd rather have something a bit more anthromorphic lol

Well Razsageth did escape before we got to the Isles. And the primal storms were happening before as well. So yeah, Alex mostly invited us to solve her mess for her.

As for TBC the reason we go through the portal is in the pre-expansion event. The Legion was invading through Outland. Heck there is a sizeable Legion army right in front of the Dark Portal on Outland. And we absolutely had a reason to go to every raid but Hyjal. Karazhan we went cause Khadgar asked us to investigate, Gruul's lair is just a continuation of the Gronn hunting quests, Magtheridon's Lair is to stop the creation of fel orcs, Serpentshrine and Tempest Keep were because Vashj was enslaving all the locals and Kael almost blew up Netherstorm, Black Temple we went because Illidan's forces attacked Shattrath and because Akama asked for our help. Only Hyjal was weird in that Soridormi asks us to go inside and we did not actually find any disturbance unlike the other two cavern of times instances. I don't agree with the narrative choices made (but then again I'd have made all those people a separate Illidari faction led by Illidan with Kael, Vashj, Akama as racial leaders) but there was always a reason for what we were doing.

There is nothing anthropomorphic about the Naaru. I'd assume that whatever the Naaru came from made them in its image. Another option would be for the Pantheon of Light to be pure sound creatures. The most characteristic thing about the Naaru imo is the chime sounds they made. Take a page out of Tolkien and make the original force incorporeal and musical and then the Prime Naaru are those who gain physical form but in doing so are removed from the pure Light.

5 months and 1 week until Blizzcon, and ~3 months until this thread explodes.

    I'm starting to get excited.

I am trying to hype myself up for Avaloren. I felt that DF so far has failed to create the impact with World Building that Pandaria had but I am willing to give them another chance though I am unsure they've seen the dissonance. And it is clear to me from the Orc Heritage and Blue Dragonflight questlines that they understand how to do fanservice.
That said, I need some kind of major upgrade on Evergreen systems (or better yet, Evergreen Timewalking) and imo at least part of it needs to be delivered during DF.

Ofc the 10.2 story could redirect us to something else entirely. We still don't even know what Iridikron is planning.

Do you guys think there is a chance for mage tower like activity in the next patches?

I think it would be easy to create boss fights for that type of content, since we deal with time travel stuff and something like that would keep player occupied for a long time.

The Brawlpub is coming back, we know that much. They could repurpose that into challenging solo content. It is by its nature, lore and location evergreen. You can add and remove encounters as need be. It even has a social element to it. Only problem is it can get annoying to wait in line but they could change it so there is a public track that everyone gets to watch and a second way to queue for an instanced version.

I think that the evergreen Brawler's Guild that is coming could easily have Mage Tower kind of encounters.

In general, I do not think that another Mage Tower is something that needs to happen right now. The improvement of evergreen systems like Archeology and especially Timewalking should be the focus. Many more players would engage with that type of content for years, as another Mage Tower would be just a one time thing.

I actually somehow missed the evergreen brawler's guild info, thanks for telling me.

About timewalking i think they should add a lot more rewards to timewalking vendors that fit timewalking that is currently active, they added some things to legion vendor like aggramar shield but i think there could be a lot more interesting transmogs and mounts, that they have in their backlog.

New timewalking raids would be also fun like ICC, BRF, HC, Throne of thunder etc.

I wish they just expanded Timewalking so it is a full supplement to the current expansion season. So imagine that during each expansion's season, there is a concurrent Timewalking season. The related continent drops increased rewards, the dungeons added to the M+ rotation are all from that particular expansion, events/world quests are added for older expansions and one raid is also active, possibly adding an LFR and a Heroic TW version together with the normal one.
Then if they never plan to do a World Revamp, they could divide the old world into a few content blocks, updated it visually only and form Timewalking Blocks from it as well. So there could be a Lordaeron Block with Zul'Aman, Scholomance, Scarlet Monastery and Stratholme (the last three updated into some new form better suited for M+) with Naxxramas and events like Southshore vs Tarren Mill world pvp objectives and pve cauldron runs in WPL.
Heck you could have the Timewalking Season change twice during the expansion season for more variety and faster rotation.

Definitively they should add more rewards and more ways of gaining Timewalking currency. I think that they would do this with Timewalking zones, but Blizzard should add every old dungeon and raid to be playable as current content, rotating them every month or every few weeks.

They have to encourage people to revisit the incredible amount of content that WoW has. I think that Archeology is key here. Ion has mentioned that they want to make something like a personal journal for the player. We could register there every boss, every type of mob, mounts, books, quests... With new lore passages for all of them, and of course new achievements and rewards.

Timewalking should rotate at least every month. I do not think that Timewalking seasons are necessary. Just improve the current system, add more rewards and incentives, throw there more dungeons and raids, and of course make them available more often.

I would turn old raids into dungeons, honestly. Separate them in wings and done. And its about time that they improve the way in which people joins TW raids, because no one do them right now.
