It would look cool though.
Besides, verticality doesnt strictly need to mean several layers of stuff on top of eachother. Aberrus hanging from the ceiling over a pit of lava. Or glimmerogg being higher up in a cliffside. It's very easy to create the illusion of content on the Z-axis when you don't necessarily need to have stuff absolutely everywhere. It's perfectly feasible to have three layers, but only use one.
The world revamp dream will never die!
I'm not even sure what the hate on Zaralek caverns is. I think it could do better but I don't exactly see what exactly people want in the world content.(I know what I want but thats beside the point). I just think in terms of replayability its low(Rare hunting is fine for those that like it and I don't want it gone)but it isn't as satisfying. Seeing that thread of implying Zaralek was made by the same devs that made "SL unbearable"

Warrior-Magi
I don't see that much hatred for it (even in that thread I don't think anyone was as extreme as the OP). Just malign indifference. I liked the main questline a fair bit but I don't see myself revisiting this area. I did like the sniffsomething minigame. I'd say it's mostly average but doesn't meet the promise of an underground zone. Inferior visually to Deepholm and what can be glimpsed of Azjol'Nerub.

If you're referring to the treasure hunt with maps, yes, I enjoy it too, it's certainly something different and can be done rather quickly. Although I wish the rooms were more related to actual lore of the game, kinda like the Vaults. Instead is just random and mostly silly stuff that makes no sense, like the one with the spider having a tea party.
Battle for Azeroth
Best focking Axpansion!
Man I want to like the blue dragon quest but after just doing the thereamore part it just seems so stupid. Like abunch of Dalaran mages are trying to make mana bombs 8 or so years later because they are scared like really?
The quest should have been a flash back to Mop right after thereamore's destruction, the writers trying to ham fist every thing into happening in the scope of the currant expan harms the games writing so much with stuff like this and Gilenas.
All I ever wanted was the truth. Remember those words as you read the ones that follow. I never set out to topple my father's kingdom of lies from a sense of misplaced pride. I never wanted to bleed the species to its marrow, reaving half the galaxy clean of human life in this bitter crusade. I never desired any of this, though I know the reasons for which it must be done. But all I ever wanted was the truth.
Well it was my thread and while title might seem a little extreme i explained in posts why that is without big hatred too, the new zone really brought me the feeling of SL and it's annoyances, that don't end up being fun in the end, changes to the zone that made it even less fun for people to participate in, the same thing was happening in SL, excluding the last fates patch.
And it seems like i wasn't the only one that shares that feeling, but i won't gatekeep people from having fun with it and i wish them all the fun they can find in the new zone.

That's true too.
Hate is also not the right word, it's the video game and pixels in the end. It's just not enjoyable as much as i wish it was, before it was released.
Different people, different opinions and feelings.

For me the quest was fun because of the overall design and a lot of fanservice of visiting some old places and voice acting, i don't expect perfection and just choose to laid back and have fun with the story told there.
Mentioning design again, it was just fresh to seeing that type of mini campaign and choosing where you want to go next and not the game choosing for you all the way till the end.
After doing some of the other ones I’d agree that it’s nice to visit old places and old dragons a decent bit of fan serivce.
But what blizzard is desperately hurting for at the moment is some one to just go “does this make sense?”, the writing room has just been all over the place and it feels like nobody is actually thinking things through before they put them in game.
With the thereamore quest jsut being one example and then things like the Malf Ysera swap, Ebon horn acting like both wrath/Seb are in the wrong when it was just Seb saying the other was expendedible, the night elfs possibly leaving there 10k year old home for the dragon isle or them just leaving areas hanging for years on end like with Gilneas.

I agree that it would make more sense if the quest with theramore happened after mop or in Legion at least or like you said in a flashback, it's the problem with the design of the game that is pretty much that - New expansion - New isle - New expansion - New isle, a lot of the things that happened or could happen in the old world that make sense after certain events are forgotten and only brought back when they see it fit for current expansion.
I just choose to have fun with the story instead of not having fun, but i know the storytelling in this game and how we always go somewhere else and in most cases don't even mention older expansions, "hurts" it in the long run if it makes sense.
All these kingdoms and stuff we visited in the past and implication of things enemies or we did, are just dead in most cases, until they bring it for a quest.
I want to reiterate, I don't think this questline is great, no more than I felt the Orc Heritage one was great. It still offers fanservice by revisiting multiple characters and locations and it has some decent story moments and voice acting (Sindragosa, Azuregos, Senegos were all excellent throughout these quests imo). I don't really have great expectations for the story but I enjoy the fanservice and seeing a larger roster that deviates from their obsession with picking 4-5 key characters and involving them in everything.

It is one of the reasons why so many of us would love a world revamp. A revamp would not need to populate the new version of the world with questlines for every location. Sure you'd expect a main storyline moving through the zone but you could keep all the side areas clear and then reuse them in future expansions when it is best for the lore. Plus the experience would be of much higher quality with a quest that sends you to such locations if those places look good.
Yeah, there are many people that mistake other people wanting world revamp with only the texture/model only revamp, which is untrue.
Even if these old places would get a world revamp and there's no new content in it, it would be still only used by handful of people during lvling, but if blizzard would actually made these places alive a little, by adding some story to them.. Well it would create a feeling that something is actually happening in these ol kingdoms and zones.
Orc heritage questline i actually love because it can make the world when it comes to orc clans/horde and such more alive, maybe we will see new faces used in stories, like Leoroxx etc.. but they can easily just forget about it and nothing will happen again when new expansion starts and we just go to new zone and that's it - 10 years from now maybe they add a quest that will actually show the results of that questline.
Even before Orc Heritage I think many people expected that if a revamp would happen, we could see different places in Kalimdor becoming the home of different clans. You could imagine the Laughing Skull in Un'goro, the Bleeding Hollow in Feralas, the Shattered Hand in Dustwallow.
I will try to remain hopeful until blizzcon season and leaks start showing up, maybe they will surprise me, us.
Besides the things we talked about world revamp and modernizing them with story and gameplay like world quests, the second thing i hope for is another BIG go this time at character customization, especially when it comes to face types, adding a lot more for each race and every race should have the same amount of tabs for customization such as beards for every race, tattoos, scars, jewelry like necklaces for all male/bodytype1 races, much more skin tones and face types that actually look different and all the things that come with that.
There's a lot of that on wowhead when you tick the npc options in dressing room, the amount of customization(eye types, skin tones) there that is locked for playable characters is crazy and it's a shame we can't even use that.

Lol are you late in that discussion.
Back when chronicle was published people definitely figured out we were looking at the fifth old god and I remember people linking it to that HS card.
Yeah it would make sense if Avaloren has some significant Black Empire influence. Could it be Xal? We will find out. It is the most common speculation ofc.

The leaves are interesting. You don't really see that with any existing Old God-adjacent stuff.
