I know for sure fangames exist because I made one, but even my own project was inspired by the years of fan art and similar games that came before it.

Yall are overlooking the fact you can buy erotica in-game
Do the steamy romance novels mean nothing to you??

They talk about how only recently WoW brought in gay couples but completely ignore the stable boy story.

Ok its really not that salacious. The Mod Maid II Deception is more "Titilating" But this is getting off topic and as much as I like the ES universe its lower compared to my appreciation for WoW.

Edit: Also Merry Xmas and Happy Holidays.

Speaking of upcoming patches... can anybody tell me if I'd miss anything crucial if I took a break from Dragonflight until the next major patch or so?

It's a good expansion so far, but I feel so much pressure to keep up the pace with the community overall. Everyone seems to be playing all day long, maxing out Renown levels, doing a ton of raiding, crafting, etc. Being a dad of a small toddler and quite busy at work, I just can't find the time nor the energy - and it all just leaves a sour taste.

Like, if I leave for a month or two, do you think I'd have to do a bunch of catch-up to get anywhere? Or is there something I'd miss out on forever? I reckon by that time the expansion will have matured a bit, and it's not "everyone at the frontline" vs "me in the back", but rather everyone's progress will be a bit more spread out.

    Edit:

Oh, and maybe Moveanything will be updated finally so I can hide UI elements I don't use.

It's just your perception. In last 15+ years there was never point in WoW when you "lose" something by not playing, only few cosmetic items like mount for doing M+15 or similar dungeons or transmog set from rated PVP.

If we talk about raw power, catching up was easy even when game was overburneded with systems. Now it's trivial. And renown stuff have little to do with power, you can do it on your own pace.

Nothing that I can think of. For Renown you will be behind in the sense that you won't get the easy reputation sources like the weekly. But i doubt you would miss anything crucial if you took a break. At worst i would say that you might lise out on the initial rush to complete everything, so stuff like hunts and community feasts might be more difficult to complete.

gearing maybe, idk if the new island in 10.1.0 will be something on par with something like the Broken Shore or not, it felt like a small zone in the evoker campaign but they made the broken shore feel large too when it came out.

The evoker zone appears in 10.0.7, 10.1 will have a completely new zone.

If you play rated pvp staying a month away = 4 pieces behind from weekly chest. It only flips back months later when you can grind full gear from conquest cap. Start of xpac is always the time where not playing punishes you most while the closer you go to end of xpac the easier it gets to catch up. Last month of an xpac is really best time for people with no time left to play.

I'm curious what they're doing with it and if it becomes the "max level" zone until 10.1 hits. Overall, the zone is pretty yet boring and there's really not much to it overall.

The zone already had some rares, they can add an event to it and there is an obvious dungeon entrance from where Raszageth escaped.

If you leave for a couple months the only thing you'll miss out on is gear and profession knowledge and maybe a trading post rotation

The renown grind will likely get adjusted in the .0.5 patch

I mean that dungeon entrance serves no purpose unless they deliberately left it out from their content roadmap (why would they announce a mega dungeon, but not another dungeon coming in 10.0.7?). Regarding rares... I'm not sure how many there are, I think I killed three (insect guy, proto dragon, draconid) while leveling my Dracthyr.

I'm sure they'll add some stuff to it, but I just don't know what. Opening up the Evoker quests would be weird, so they would have to create a bunch of brand new content? Or it might just be event based with a daily hub.

    Hopefully.
I'ma bit scared using this part of the Dragon Isles again is gonna feel a little bit microwave heated... but we'll see! Any additional content is welcome

I'm very exciting for the trading post and all future cosmetics it will bring, I think it's a step in the right direction. What I'm particularly intrigued by is the holiday revamp. I really reallyyyyyy hope Winter Veil, Midsummer and Hallow's End get some love!

The underground creches could be revisited at least. We only saw those briefly, and unlike Vault of the Wardens they have not been reused for content yet.

Suppose there is also the possibility of opening up more areas on the island. It already doesn't have a north edge on the map, so maybe more areas behind that.

Falling behind on profession knowledge is definitely the big one. You get a large boost from Renown sources, but those don't really outweighs the benefit of several weeks worth of extra knowledge.
Some knowledge bilda up though i think. The ones you find from treasures or nodes I believe have a cap that increases each week.

Don't see why the Renown grind needs to be adjusted honestly. There is nothing that is required hidden behind Renown, except maybe the profession knowledge.

Scared of what? It's good when content isn't wasted for 30 minutes experience for single class. Not to mention that if DF would be Legion (which we consider as expac with one of best patch support) then:

10.1 would be just new story and raid
    10.2 would be Evoker island
10.3 would be actual new zone.

Now they said both 10.1 and 10.2 will have brand new zones and Evoker island will be for 10.0.7.
