Yeah, revamped world is quite an undertaking.
But an alternative to World Revamp, I would go for another Mists of Pandaria -like expansion. Someone already brought a point with Arabian culture. And I'd be all in.
People didn't like the Pandaria for Pandas really. But what MoP actually gave, was a very unique take on WoW storytelling and world-building. It was all rooted in one culture. It was pretty much homogeneous, but not boring on mono-thematic. Everything, from concept arts, through music, to story philosophy was part of a single idea based on a single culture. And that idea gave an opportunity to tell a simple, yet exciting story.
When I think about cultures, first thing that comes to my mind is Norse one, but it's already in the game. Asia (China, Japan) is also taken by Pandaria. I don't think "tribal" cultures are big enough to provide for an entire expansion theme - but Arabian - definitely. From artwork, through orient music, to captivating stories. Everything is there. So if Avaloren was the next expansion, at least make it something like this

Yeah, Knights of the Silver Hand === Knights of the Round Table - but that is within a medival, chivalry, knight-esque fantasy theme. Everything clicks there.
But don't pay too much attention - it was just a joke this name simply doesn't resonate well with me, that's it. But whatever the name is, I'm fine as long as the place is great!
It is hard to know what would happen.
We barely know anything about Avaloren, although we already have more information about it than what we knew of the Dragon Isles when they were hinted at in BfA.
Yet I see Avaloren just as the Dragon Isles in BfA. A continent that we would visit sometime in the future, but probably not in 11.0. It seems that Blizzard is building a narrative that would span multiple expansions, so we might get more information about Avaloren and a reason to go there in game, not in the reveal trailer as it usually happens. Also, Avaloren seems to has high advanced technology, so they might take the chance to introduce the Tech class that WoW is missing, Tinker or whatever form it adopts. I just do not see them releasing two classes in two expansions, but I would love to be proven wrong.
I believe that 10.2 would have a new zone west of Ohn'ahran Plains, with Fyrakk as the final raid boss. Fyrakk is burning all the Dragon Isles. If a new World Tree suddenly emerges, chances are that we would have to face him. Plus this would give Iridikron time to do whatever he is doing.
I see Iridikron releasing Chromatus in 10.2.5, again, to gain time for his schemes. Chromatus has to be deal with within this expansion, and him as the final boss of the presumably 10.2.5 dungeon would make sense.
This would lead us to 10.3, the huge mystery. It seems that Murozond would not appear in 10.1.5 dungeon. In any case, we would not deal with him in that dungeon. So he has to be a part of 10.3, along with the Red Dragonflight, which relevance in DF has been non-existent.
One thing that might happen is that in the end cinematic of 10.2's raid, Alexstrasza kills Fyrakk (after we debilitate him), but in the process, she gets corrupted by Shadowflame. We already know that Alexstrasza will betray Tyr in some way, so this might be it. But I still have no idea of where 10.3 might take us.
In such a way, with Alexstrasza as the final boss of the expansion, Iridkron, Vyranoth and Murozond would be free (and it seems that as allies) to do their thing, plus cleaning the face of the world from the Titan's touch, meaning that they would destroy a good part of the world, leading us to a world revamp.
A good way of causing massive destruction would be destroying the elemental planes that the Titans created. I still believe that we would see a meeting between the Incarnates and the Elemental Lords, as they were natural allies, and it would be very interesting to see where the Elemental Lords loyalties lie.

Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.
earlier I straight up jumped on Northrend revamp with a heavy titan theme but I kind of forgot that we have a book in the Exile reach telling us that the naga are sure to make a come back. When thinking about what the next expansion could be it is quite hard to balance between fanfiction, narrative wishlist, and which of the breadcrumbs we've found will end up being something relevant in the coming expac.
Tel’Abim
Avaloren
Light Invasion
Underground Azeroth
World Revamp
K’Aresh
That’s my order of expectations from most likely to least likely for next expansion.

Tel’Abim and Nightsquall, I’ve been calling it for a while in this thread now.
I see Avaloren as King Arthur inspired continent alongside potentially Ancient Rome/Greece.
I don’t see pirates or Nightsquall fitting there. I do see Azshara, Odyn & Titans fitting there though.

If next expansion would be pirate themed, they need to make this dragon a mount.
I'm sorry if I missed the conversation. But, do any of you know what the dragon soul/demon soul/whatever you prefer device that Iridikron is using to scoup up Galakrond essence in the Megadungeon is from?
I'm sorry for being daft I am just kind of flabbergasted that just popped out of nowhere.
(Just trying to factcheck myself as I try to understand what's up.)
In context of the current conversation, I've truly given up on guessing where we're going next. In my honest opinion, it doesn't really matter as if the marketing sucks for the next expansion and the reveal of the expansion is as directionless as 10.0 any option other than Revamp will end unsatisfactorily for the populace.

I no longer reply to quotations beyond if you're asking a genuine question or have a non-confrontational stance.
A Japanese pantheon would be cool, and it would be fun to see Vulpera tied in with a more developed kitsune race being their origin.
Also leaning into Japan would be a nice way to diversify Tel'abim from full-on Arabian Nights. So far the only real Japanese-themed race is Ankoan Jinyu (Nelves are Korean).
No more silly than Kalimdor being forgotten and untouched for thousands of years because reasons
Personally I don't get why people think Tel'abim is even inhabited. Let alone has some advanced civilization.
K'aresh seems like a far more likely setting for a pseudo-Arabian themed expansion.
Why is it no one else understands that when we get light vs void, were also getting naga again?
The naga in the latest patch all talk about giving themselves to the void to join Azshara. This is a dead hint that azshara is coming back soon and so will Yrel.
The two will be involved heavily. Probably in ways no one thinks such as actually aligning with one of them, and this could also take place on azeroth in the new Avaloren zone. There are so many ways we could end up actually getting a lot of our requests all at once, a lot like legion did for so many players.
After dragonflight I can see blizzard going hard in pandering to fan favor. The best way to do that is new race, world revamp, bring back a bunch of big names that left us hanging. I can't wait for blizzcon.
No we don't. The three possibilities i see the most often are its some sort of prototype dragon soul that stems from the black empire or the old gods. This could even be something like Xal'atath, but thats very unlikely.
Maybe Iridikron forged a dragon soul himself or got it somewhere(sometime?) with the help of the infinites.
But as with everything that involves the incarnates we have no idea. I guess we find out when we encounter iridikron next.
#TeamLegion #UnderEarthofAzerothexpansion plz #Arathor4Alliance #TeamNoBlueHorde
Warrior-Magi
I don't know, the whole turning expansion concepts into major patches are just not good for the longevity of the product and honestly it has just lessened the potential experience of experiencing the environments that people wanted full fledged expansions centered around instead while devaluing the property.
