It could still be, unless he very specifically said that we will not see the Sword until TLT. Just going back to Silithus to see Xal'atath attempt to harvest the corpse of C'thun isnt really a resolution to the sword plotline in any way, just us being in proximity of it.

Well people were asking for Metzen, so there he is.

Better than leaving hagging for years without conclusion and just for "reasons". Blizzard decided to destroy Dalaran, that was already rebuilt once and slowly lost importance as the main mage haven and the bullwark against the Legion, so lets evolve from there.

It seems like those rumors of some clashes between Metzen and the writing team have a bit of ground to them.

I'm excited for TWW, but Midnight and TLT seem to be true Metzen babies and are worthy of some serious enthusiasm.
I doubt there was too much of a clash. I'm interested if Kezan was going to be messed with if the expansion was mostly original, and maybe the Nerubians were going to be an OC race as well.

But I suspect the plot was always going to be Xal winning and us moving to a holy land. But maybe Avaloren instead of Quelthalas.

He very specifically says that the resolution of the sword will happen in 13.0. A little dissapointing, but I guess that makes sense. Azeroth VS Sargeras for sure.

Sargeras coming back in The Last Titan basically confirmed.

So once again blue-balling a larger-than-life set piece so it will inevitably be disappointing based on how long they prolonged its payoff. Never change, Blizzard. I was right when I referenced Nyolotha a page ago.

Well yeah, but resolution to the sword story being in TLT doesnt mean the expansions will go out of their way to avoid the sword completely.
Obviously we will have to see how it all pans out. But I don't think us going to Silithus for 11.2 is impossible just because the sword will be more important in TLT.

I hope that you are right. I will love a revamped Silithus, above ground and under ground. If TWW's zones are Kezan and the Rootlands... For sure they can make them awesome, but right now it does not seem very exciting.

Good thing you already decided that a thing ~4y in the future will be a disappointment.

Still holding out hope for Rootlands with Undermine raid for 11.1, and Silithus and Ahn'Qiraj underground acessed via the underground sea in Hallowfall for 11.2. Would be perfect for me.

The CGI cinematic was for the World Soul Saga then, not for TWW.

Kezan will be, but unless they pivot in some crazy direction Rootlands will just be the Dream with less light. Hope it's not the final patch.

Not just that, he specifically references Illidan in involvement with the sword.

    Massive hype.

Also The Last Titan is probably Sargeras to begin with, as Azeroth... probably isn't one. Yet.

Haven't heard anyone mention that they have plans up to 17, so at least one other saga in the pipe.

The sword woke up something and we are dealing with that in TWW. Besides that, it's an inert piece of something.

Something tells me that the Void will takeover Azeroth in Midnight and that's Sargeras' "I told you so!" for eons.

Is it really surprising that the capital T Titan weapon sticking out of Azeroth is gonna be a 13.0 thing?

Midnight is set on the other side of the planet, and its not like TWW would deal with it in any greater way than maybe have us visit some caverns beneath the wound.

Midnight is around Silvermoon and the Sunwell, we know that already.

Where do you think Sillithus is located relative to Quel'thalas?

I'm not talking about the backside if that's the misunderstanding.

He probably means that Silithus and the sword are in the opposite corner of the world.
