Dragonblight... duh. See you in 2027. Eastern Kingdoms I suppose has some relevance with Black Dragonflight and some possible expansion into Lordaeron in Midnight.

But Dustwallow? I didn't think we'd see much of Kalimdor aside from Silithus.
It's just nostalgia event. Vanilla and WoTLK, cause TBC doesn't really fit here.

They probably did it instead of some Xalatath attack cause most likely Midnight prepatch will be Void invasion on Azeroth.

I'm more curious about the zone selections (besides dragonblight, that's obvious) than the memories, is it because that are far away from player hubs? I guess Searing Gorge has the dwarf angle but Dustwallow seems disconnected from everything besides the Onyxia tiein.

I doubt there's anything more to it beyond nostalgia. Onyxia and Ragnaros were the original final raid bosses from launch, while the Lich King was the most iconic villain we've fought to date and the big threat hanging over us after WC3. They're all great choices to use to reference the history of WoW. The only other boss I feel should have been included in that regard is Garrosh as the best villain developed throughout WoW itself, but he's represented in Remix right now.

If Blizzard wanted to bait early Warcraft nostalgia then Illidan and Kael'thas could have easily been inserted, either appearing in Northrend where they fought Arthas, or in Night Elf zones and Quel'thelas.

    Thats really odd.

I'm sure they have something else planned since 11.0.5 will revolve around the anniversary entirely.

I mean, they're animate piles of rock. Organic food would be useless to them.

Yeah I know, but eating to restore health is a pretty big thing to not have.

I guess you can use bandages instead? It's not like most people really use buff-food for healt regen anyways lol.

Azeroth is thousands of years old, but she is only remembering the last two decades? All within living memory of the present populace? I think it is more likely she is trying to send a message to the people of Azeroth.

I did check, Mage Food does actually work, and I assume water works as well, so it's not as big of a deal as I thought.

Technically, you can eat gems, and I assume restore HP from them, but dunno if that is worth it money-wise.

It's always been a weak point of warcrafts story that nothing is happening for 10k years between the sundering and the dark portal and then all hell breaks loose.
But i think there is some deeper meaning why we see those bosses specifically. Maybe some old god/void influenced events or something else.

    Got that covered;

“But this isn’t the end. I promise you, this is not the end, and we have to regroup and we have to continue to fight and continue to work day in and day out to create the better society for our children, for this world, for this country, that we know is possible.” ~~Jon Stewart

I think the memories are not Azeroth's memories. They only show things from classic and wrath. So pre-cata but post WC3. And more specifically, they show things we, as the players, witnessed. So, they are our memories manifested. The question would be why. Easy answer: the heart of azeroth. It copied our memories and replicates them. But then still the question: why only pre-cata? for Northrend it makes sense, since we didn't do much there since then. But the other two zones are all events from pre-Cata, while omitting cata era quests. I think it is more meta, then actually part of the story. Vanilla and Wrath are considered "the best eras" of WoW, with Cata being seen as a downgrade. These are quite literally our rose tinted memories. Well, golden tinted. The golden years of WoW.

More interesting Answers: It is based on the crystal we find in Classic, that light crystal. It recorded our story until wrath, then something happend to it, probably due to the catalclysm, it perhaps sunk down into a chasm and is now deep underground, like the Beledar. The Beledar gets the signatures of that crystals and shows these projections.

Well, the Thaldazus story with the Timewalkers has us visit a few places and times where things happened: The gnoll wars, the pandaran uprising, the war of the shifting sands. So, Blizzard can show us things that happened outside of WC1-WoW and 10k years ago.

Khadgar also wonders whether these are Azeroth's memories or ours. It's likely an either intended or unintended interaction with the champions' minds.

Alternatively, Azeroth only became "conscious" after the Third War.

Of course on a meta level, it's all just pretense for a stroll down memory lane.
But your duty to Azeroth is not yet complete. More is demanded of you... a price the living cannot pay.

Important to note that Radiant Echoes are not just a Pre-patch thing but will also be a thing in TWW, so I don't really think it's a case of "It's the players memory".

When Khadgar says "are these her memories or ours???" I think it is a tease towards Azeroth being some sort of collective consciousness deal.

    You guys are overthinking it.

The event is just designed to pull at peoples nostalgia.

Could be, the one cinematic with Xal'ataha shows that the world soul is "growing".

Though, i kind of like the idea that they are reflections of memories. Not Azeroths memories, but reflected by Azeroth (or the Beledar) from the living. In that youtube video it shows that "radiant song" effect before the event with the memories starts. So, perhaps it (Azeroth or Beledar) looks into our memories, or the memories of others and creates these reflections.
