I got beta access too, hah. Was thinking this may be the first expansion since WotLK that I didn't get alpha or beta access. At least right by the end.

So far the saga doesn't look epic. Xal'atath doesn't look threatening. I hope to see the father of darkness at midnight. And I hope he doesn't look like Mr. Nipple.

The leader of the great darkness must be brutal like Sargeras.

My guess is they skipped the whole Tol'vir slave thing because they want us to be semi-sympathetic with the nerubian rebels.

Although I am wondering if the Qiraji get any mention whatsoever in Azj'kahet. At this point I don't think they've gotten any in-game new lore since TBC?

Is it boring to be such a doomer all the time? We've not even started the first part of a three part saga, do you think it's going to be explosions and massive demons right from the start? It's called setting the stage

Makes sense, Xal'atath could fit into any expansion pulling the strings behind the bads, I'm sure they were going to do an underground expansion anyway - midnight feels like the heart of the story metzen is building

I think they used the Nerubians instead of Qiraji because they plan to Re-use them in TLT

Probably but they also shafted them for Aqir in 8.3 so their status is really questionable at this point.

It picks up where we left off from Dragonflight. Don't be odd.

So you're going to ignore all the stuff Metzen worked on up until Legion? Stuff that matters in TWW and next expansions? Don't be odd.

So obvious how its literally kicking back to the end of Legion in so so many ways. right where he left off too.

I have a feeling blizzard will bring back Atiesh as a legendary in TWW for casters. Seems like a perfect opportunity to do so if Khadgar is taken out of commission.

That actually would be awesome. Imagine if Xal gets her "Old fool! This is my hour. Do you not know Death when you see it? Die now and curse in vain!" moment were she destroys his staff (and legs) before getting distracted by us so Khadgar survives barely and he later sends us to retrieve the shards of Atiesh from Dalaran's ruins.

Yeah, casters should feel same pain as Hunters, Evokers (whoops, guess they'll feel it second time) and strength users. In current WoW, where balance is on another level compared to early times, RNG legendary is a curse to your class.

Maybe this time they will actually make it so starting the questline isn't RNG, even if you have to make it a guaranteed drop from final boss Mythic exclusively.

    Gosh, exciting times!!

Xpac on the horizon, we’ll see what’s announced at gamescom, and we still have no idea what to expect for the 20th anniversary!

The City of Threads is really really cool. However I didn't quest on beta so I don't know how the pheromone system works. I hope it lets you talk to the NPCs as there are a lot of them.

Do you gotta use a disguise like in Suramar?

The lore is that you use pheromones as a lot of Nerubians only detect living beings through smell.

There's a guard system like Suramar.

I wonder if we see TWW promotion on Gamescom opening ceremony on Tuesday. If yes, there is hope for some extra news on Thursday (Microsoft stream, already confirmed TWW will be there).

Again, I'm not expecting 11.1 because its two patches away, but some info about 11.0.5 stuff and especially anniversary event is possible if TWW get more screen time.

I could see 11.1 news. It has happened before where we’ve gotten .1 news before launch.

I think using delves to get the legendary could be cool. Especially if Season 2s is in Dalaran’s ruins.

I just hope that they stop making the questline to acquire the patch’s legendary RNG, like Dragonwrath’s questline.

I've been seeing a lot of TWW ads, more than I think I've seen for any of the more recent expansions, so it wouldnt' surprise me if there's some promotion there.
