That reminds me, I wonder if the legendary companion trinket made it into the final release. I could see that being a good reward for getting each season's Delve companion to their max level, and even if it wasn't in beta, that seems like the kind of thing that would be hidden until someone gets it after launch.
As for legendary weapons, I think it would be best if they went back to Dragonwrath's style of questline but with personal loot drops. It shouldn't revolve around RNG, and funneling quest drops to one player doesn't really fit the current game too well. Just throw in a tough solo challenge at the end if they want to keep it prestigious.
Yeah, strangely the new expansion is returning right back to where the story of legion ended. Right before the series of "bad lore expansions" kicked off.
The last thing he worked on was indeed the BFA cinematic. The expansion had a complete tonal and directional change after that cinematic and Metzens departure. I.E. From "For the horde" to "The horde is nothing". The stark comparison between the cinematic and expansion has been discussed over the years quite a bit.
Despite enjoying BFA, it was the start of the slippery slope of bad storytelling that ended with a powerpoint presentation of Blizzard actually admitting some sort of fault.
People are clamouring for Remix: Legion. Not Remix: BFA, or god forbid anything further.
It's not a coincidence we're dialling back some expansions here.

and if there is anything that anyone should be happy about Metzen being back for is for jumping back in and saying, hey, that cool character everybody loves from Legion, the knife, let's not kill her immediately. Whatever they originally had planned has been extended into a saga and not skimmed over.
Idk, I literally only played my warrior and evoker this expansion for the legendary, and it was also the main reason I mained dk in wotlk (and the push for me to start raiding in ICC), a rogue as alt in cata, my priest for herald of the titans (although I couldn't use my valanyr there haha), and the Sylvanas bow was also the reason I switched back to hunter in Sanctum of Domination.
Legendaries are the best part of WoW, and I'm glad they are back to releasing meaningful, cool looking weapons, hopefully twice again per expansion.

Oh, delves for sure will be included in the questlines this time. Dragonflight also had you do the open world events.

People are already crying if they don't get a loot drop on a piss easy endboss, imagine if they actually can do the quest but never finish it because it's locked behind a "tough solo challenge at the end to keep it prestigious" xD
And please, no weird boring welfire legendary trinkets or rings or necks anymore .... legendaries should be unique weapons that you can transmog down the line even if the expansion is over.

That's exactly how I felt after getting a better perspective of the lore from this expansion. BFA lore was bad, Shadowlands was beyond terrible, and Dragonflight was as bad as BFA, thank god Metzen is back!
Xal'athat arc can be compared to the Zovaal(Jailer) arc, and it's already better.
While I still don't like the setting of an underground expansion, and I'm still upset we're probably never getting a World Revamp, at least the story is salvaging this game.

Mostly World of Warcraft stuff
So, is everyone ready for the release in a few days? Any final preparations or anything in DF you want to finish first?
How will you guys level? Will you only do the main storyline quests and then finish off with side quests if needed, or will you clear out all quests in the entire zone before moving on to the next?
When I played on beta I cleared out all quests in the first zone and ended up being level 75 when I got to the Ringing Deeps.
I'll just play through the campaign first as you have to do that anyways and after that finish with dungeons I guess. Than a good nap before starting with my first 2 alts haha. My gf is also coming over aswell keeping me awake and preparing some snacks and sandwiches for the night
I just clear all quests before I even turn on adventure mode. In DF I hit lvl 70 in second zone. So no point for me turning war mode or care about farming anything during leveling.
For alts I simply wait for TBC timewalking, especially with XP bonus. I wish Chromie Time was present for last 10 levels - and they would give option to repeat any quests you did in the past.
As always, I will calmly enjoy the zones, exploring them, doing and reading every single quest that I find. I am particularly excited about trying Delves and particularly worried about how Hero Talents will feel. At least I think that they will be interesting while leveling while we get use to them.
Regarding DF, I will like to finish some achievements, and also to get all the pristine versions of Draenor's artifacts (4 remaining), but sometimes it gets exasperating.
I would like to play some alts but sadly Warbands are not quite good enough to "allow me" to shift the focus from my main. Hopefully they will keep improving them and really make everything truly account-wide as it should be.
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.
Will definitely be interesting to see how busy the levelling zones will be during early access. I imagined lots of players would go for it, but I suppose most people are more patient and don't care as much for cosmetics.
I am very curious how the early access launch will look like compared to the regular one though. I always love the feel of when everyone starts cramming into wherever the intro quest will start, making mount conga lines or impromptu transmog competitions. Hopefully early access still had that feel.
I always try to read quest texts the first time I do the questlines. Trying to just speed ahead just burns me out quicker when I don't fully appreciate the story the writers are trying to tell.
The world revamp dream will never die!

Too bad sharding is the exact problem the game has had all of DF, with people bypassing the shard limit by making raids for all the world events. This causes so much server CPU lag that the whole game runs choppy no matter your specs. Low pop servers help, but you shouldn't have to transfer just to play the game. Luckily, warbands help with being a multi-server player.
Well, no matter how many technical issues sharding may cause, it still beats 200 people running around trying to mark 10 trees to chop.
I'll probably focus on the main campaign and whatever other quests are needed to unlock Earthen, then do extra stuff as needed to level up.
With the Warband changes there won't be any big reason to do any particular side quest on more than one character (since the big rep rewards are once per Warband and iirc the next patch will unlock all transmog from completed quests), so I'll do the other side quests while leveling alts.
Just realized something: when Dalaran falls, we might be at risk of losing the Forge of the Guardian and - as a result - Alodi. Wouldn't surprise me if it was an ulterior motive of Xal's attack on Dalaran was to snag the Forge, given it's capabilities.
It would be a shame for it to go out without a bang considering it's technically an important part of Guardian lore (it's what the Council used to empower Guardian's).
