*edit* sleepy Monday, I somehow thought you said "11.1 is not getting announced this year". Sorry for the tag.
Using the DF timeline, 11.1 would be released on January 28th/29th, that means it's on the PTR over Christmas, and has been announced in December or maybe even November.
Of course, Legion is bad comparison, 7.1 had lots of stuff that likely was intended for launch, mainly the entirety of Nighthold, it's the same tier as Emerald Nightmare. While it may have always been intended for a later release like Blackrock Foundry after Highmaul, it came nearly 4 months later, not 2 like Foundry.
Definitely. Give the Ensembles a higher prices, e.g. 100 or 120 Marks, and/or require reaching Elite in any later season (account-wide) but do make them available again.
Hope that this new content will be rolled into Retail, too, e.g. during a revamp, else it'd be huge waste.

But your duty to Azeroth is not yet complete. More is demanded of you... a price the living cannot pay.
Not like they advertised it much, so I feel it was more so to test whether it fit more so than if players loved it per se.
A fresh start of SoD with more focus on a new dungeon or raid each phase might be different enough that they can rerelease Classic a fourth time.
That, and new glyphs of course. Keep some of the better ones. Maybe rebalance it so you have broader changes. Maybe some cosmetic changes even.
There is also the possibility of rereleasing SoD with other amenities from Retail, like HD graphics or transmog and such. I know I would be more willing to give SoD a chance if there were unique cosmetics that carried over into Retail as an example.

An incentive to really farm Marks for more sets would be nice. Would certainly liven up the PvP scene if they gave more of a reason for new players to get into that gamemode. You can't expect every dedicated PvP player to have gone into it purely out of curiosity.
The world revamp dream will never die!
I would love to have some form of sink for marks of honor, I’ve got above 2K on my account and nothing to spend it on until they add the DF ensembles/arsenals.
Definitely think there should still be SOME rating requirement. Probably just require the rating you’d need to unlock it in current tier. 1800 for ensemble, 2100 for enchant illusions, etc.
I don't hope for much, so far we have only seen 2.5D Xal'atath and an 80s cartoon about Alleria. We have individual stories that don't feel like a full story. Was there any information about the book for the saga?
There is one simply move to make next season popular through all phases, although it would be against one of classic rules. Just give transmog from classic quest (from season only) to retail account (of course all transmog after 11.0.5 will lift rules).
It would bring so many people that they could experiment all they want. Currently any classic release fall apart after first month (of course compared to launch, all have enough people to sustain it).
I'm just happy to get the show on the road again.
I no longer reply to quotations beyond if you're asking a genuine question or have a non-confrontational stance.
I believe Classic seasons will be cumulative, with all features being included in subsequent seasons. For example Onyxia & Molten Core has (almost) all the Season of Mastery changes. It sounded like our characters will migrate to retail when the season is over, but that's just items.
I don't think it'll go into TBC because that means having to redesign all the runes for the TBC build changes.
Perhaps they design entirely new phases after naxxramas, for example if the survey hint of adding blood elves would only make canon sense after Naxx. Otherwise I think they only way you could get playable classic high elves is play with the actual point the Silver Covenant & Sunreavers were formed in Dalaran. It would be interesting if the Sunreavers actually pre-date Silvermoon joining the Horde.

Agreed. At the very least, bring over the unique models. Some cool models have come out of SoD even if they are just reskinned low-res Vanilla models (the blue katana from BFD, the halved Pit Lord glaive from the Demonfall Canyon dungeon, etc.)
Has this model been used in Retail yet? We've got the gold-hilted one from Exile's Reach, and there was the dark-grey hilt/grey-wood handle model from the Trading Post. Just trying to think if I missed it on the TP or not.

I know all this talk is meant for Vanilla Classic seasons, but I'd be really interested in MoP or Legion Classic if the stuff you earn carried over to live servers. I'd love another chance to earn all of the time-limited stuff that I missed out on like the Mage Tower weapons, Challenge Mode sets, and AotC mounts (by actually doing the content in its original form, of course).
Considering it's bad enough of an attack that the Uncrowned had to evacuate and set up shop in Dornogal as well as surviving mages/citizens (I think all 3; Kirin Tor, Sunreaver, and Silver Convenant, but I can't find the wowhead article that I saw with images of them) dwelling in Dornogal aswell; I hope they are going all in on outcomes if Dalaran is really gone, or at least in really bad shape.

Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.
Happy Launch Week! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvY166dUD7M
No way are they gonna send the SoD chars to retail, that's something they would tell us beforehand like with remix since everything classic so far was it's own thing an people would be pissed if they only told them at the end of the season "actually, you can transfer all these classic goodies over to retail now, too bad if you missed out haha".
What I could see though is them announcing a new season based upon SoD (with all the new stuff and more), telling as that yes, this time, chars *will* end up on retail (basically marking it as Remix: Classic), with SoD realms staying online 'till the next season is over, and than sending both SoD and the new season's chars over to retail. That would give people enough time to farm stuff fairly on both seasonal realms.
I hope they're not trying to make Xal'atath sympathetic
