What is Warcraft Direct? Is this just another name for the communications/roadmap stuff they did throughout DF?

I'm kind of sad we did not get 3 of the warbringer animations as usual, I really enjoy them, and the multitude of analysis videos that follow them.

This month has gone so slow, and no early access so got to wait till Monday to play! I'm looking forward to nerding out and enjoying the new content. Hopefully the splitting of people with early access will mean less of the usual launch issues. To everyone with early access, enjoy

Nintendo started the trend of announcement and news streamings with Nintendo Direct, warcraft direct is a way of saying they'll do an anouncement and news streaming/video

They need to do some work on the Warband/Character select screen. Maybe have a sort-by-realm toggle/alphabetical/by-level thing. Because this list is just silly. I switched to another realm and absolutely nothing in the list changed, it just makes it so that I create characters for that realm in particular.
Not to mention the realm name in the little box that appears is obnoxiously small and a horrid colour (dark grey on a translucent black background is not a great choice of colours).

Also, some indication of what realm you are currently on would be a great as well. Because as it stands there's nothing telling us what realm we are on anymore - the old screen had the realm name at the top of the character list.

Eww no. Realms are basically only important for choosing your name now anyways, it literally doesn't matter "on what realm you are on" anymore, outside of niche bmah/ah cases, although I guess they will change that to be EU wide aswell soon enough. Thanks to crossrealm guilds you can also do work orders cross realm within your guild already. The list is fine, and you still can move your characters and sort it that way in case you didn't realize lol. It's great that all my warband is now under one page per wow account, I would hate it to get it broken up by ugly realm names again.

Realms are basically only important for choosing your name now anyways, it literally doesn't matter "on what realm you are on" anymore, outside of niche bmah/ah cases, although I guess they will change that to be EU wide aswell soon enough. Just watched the Metzen interview. Really like what he said about Xal'atath not being just a raid boss. Makes me think, hopefully, we will see her for most of this trilogy and not just in TWW. One can hope!

Also, him talking about TLT and saying "You are not prepared for that" most definitely means Illidan is coming back

I really hope Warcraft Direct isn't one of these "we sit, talk, nod A LOT and pretend all this is fresh news for us" type of annoucement. If they want it as replacement for yearly Blizzcon "what's next", it should look like that.

Fair enough, but still I know which of my characters are RP realm characters anyways. Besides that, you literally can hover over your characters in the select screen and see their realm. And if you log into that character it automatically switches to that realm aswell ... so it's not like you can land on a rp realm by accident anyways. And if you want to create a character on a specific realm (for lets say rp or naming purposes) you simply click on the realm list and choose from there, easy as that.

Well, seeing how Timerunners were flagged. Why not have a RP flag? A little "RP" icon next to the characters.

That's a good question, and one difficult to answer. Many RP servers have their own little community that wouldn't work on mega servers. Then you have the big RP servers in Argent Dawn(EU) and Moon Guard(US). If the small ones would be merged into the big ones, it would kill the community of the small ones. And for EU you also have the issue that we have different languages and putting them all into one RP realm is less then desirable.

That, as well as recent comments from devs hinting she might not be not be completely considered a ''villain'' has me thinking there's a big reveal to come with her.

Honestly, to contrast what the general theory has been in this thread, that she was sent by the Void Lords to monitor the Old Gods who went rogue and turned on her to cover their tracks - I think she was the one who went rogue from the directive of the Void Lords and that's why the Old Gods teamed up to kill her. I think she's working against Dimensius and is only pretending to serve.

Honestly? My crazy theory is that she's Elune, and there's a few reasons why I think that. We'll see.

Heads up for everyone who planned to get some s2/s3 elite bits via timerunning chars in Aberrus/Amirdrassil, they finally fixed the bug with the pre patch so you can't get the mark anymore, making the elite transmogs unobtainable:

I fully expect her to win. From the sounds of it, she'll be showing up in the rest of The World Soul Saga too.

As I've said, a part of me believes she is Elune, or some side to her. I fully expect her to show up in The Last Titan because of her thanking us for giving her a foothold at the Seat of the Pantheon during Legion. Xal being Elune could also be a tie in to why the Night Elves get involved with Midnight. Metzen did say that it would be ALL of the Elven tribes joining together.
