Khaz Algar is, literally, another new continent without established lore. It didn't exist.

That is my point. Strong community desire to go back to old world will be adressed in Midnight, cause Khaz Algar was already far into production.

I think we should rather not treat Metzen as some genius writer who has monopoly on good ideas.

Of course not, old lore of Warcraft can be very stupid. But I take "epic, but stupid" from Metzen or Afras-- I mean you-know-who over bland 9.2 or Alextrasza from Danuser era.

Every expac has it's gems though, and I hope Saga will have more stuff like Draenor Shadowmoon, Suramar, Zandalar main story, Jaina plot, Revendreth, Blue Dragonflight.

WS Saga being in development before his comeback and interesting villains like Xal show that writing team pulled their shit together w/o him.

I think Saga is Metzen idea and TWW/Xalatath were planned as part of something else. It's clear when you watch reveal.

I don't think he's a genius writer, but he pulls the lore in the direction I want.

But the lore from Shadowlands wasn't good, and its widely panned by the vast majority of the fanbase.

BfA had a lot of issues with its lore, but there were a lot of bright spots too; much more than Shadowlands.

The Lore was not that bad, and had many good parts. The story told with that lore is the bad part.

I respect your continuous negativity but I challenge it ¡¡ At best we will have a TW revamp and WoW on consoles and at worst a decent anniversary event plus what is to come in patch 11.0.5.

Besides that, in a few hours we will get al TWW's cinematics ¡¡ There might be some juicy lore bits there.

Ehhhhh, disagreed actually. I think the lore introduced in SL also sucked badly. First Ones, Zereths, artificially created Pantheons, blah blah.

The Warcraft Direct thing was going to be "in the next few months" so don't expect that today. They did interviews at a desk with some hosts yesterday so there will probably be something like that today for WoW. No clue what to expect (if anything), might just be re-iterating what they mentioned during the opening night ceremony.

Depends what Warcraft Direct even is. If it's like 9.2/10.2/Dragonflight pre-recorded thing then meh. If it's mini panel like WoD cinematic reveal and Legion expac on Gamescoms, call me hyped.

From blue post announcing no Blizzcon in 2024: "And we’re thrilled to be planning multiple, global, in-person events to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Warcraft, which will be held in addition to the in-game celebrations across our Warcraft games throughout 2024." So there is hope Warcraft Direct is exactly that.

No allied race was ever locked behind raids. It is usually story quests and reputation. With TWW i guess only story.

Yeah, it's not gated to the raid, but there is a "campaign completed" condition and most campaign final chapters require at least an LFR (or now the story mode) kill on the raid final boss.
