This makes sense. But i think there is more to it. Through the Delve story, the boss of the 13th delve apparently is tasked with destroying memories. I think we miss a big puzzle piece, but that the radiant song memories are tied to the vault of memories seems to make sense.

They specifically gave her a childish voice from cartoons so that she wouldn't be considered an 80-year-old smoker.

Apart from that character, I think voice acting is a lot better than in DF, where almost all characters had this musical type of talking.
Its just a lot better when characters talk normally.

I especially like the Vizier who switches between normal talking and 'acting' depending on the situation. It shows the distinction between when he's his actual self or is pretending to be on the Queen's side. It also shows that voice actors can do both, but it is up to the director how the character should talk.

Faerin is just a mess of a character. I expected someone older and more battle hardened when I looked at the trailer. The character as a whole is so disjointed it almost feels as if they had a lot of internal beef about what the character should be.

Why would anyone expect Faerin to be older? She is Arathi Jeanne d'Arc

Idk, wasn't Jeanne d'Arc supposed to be beautiful? Or maybe I just have seen to many animes lol.

Yrel was a better Jeanne d'Arc than our arathi tomboy.

Looked older in the CGI trailer.
Also lots of scars and shit. Also a leader of some kind. You'd expect this character to be late 30 early 40.

The haircut is the worst aspect about this character. Can't take it seriously. It looks stupid.

The VA is very hit and miss I find. Definitely a bunch of inexperienced actors doing but roles. Prioress Murrpray in the dungeon is another that really didn't sound convincing.

The Earthen are really weird as well. Some talk normally. Some talk robotic even by robot standard. No idea whether they even had a unifying vision for what they were supposed to sound like.

I think the earthen thing was intended, like the most robotic sounding ones are more attached to the edicts and the more normal sounding ones tend to belong to the unbound

Like when they first arrive, Alleria doesn't talk to Turalyon (she does talk to him later) and instead talks to Jaina and Thrall. And I get why she talks to Thrall (cause Horde players need to feel involved in what would otherwise be an Alliance gone neutral plot) but why Jaina and not Turalyon?

Still not as crazy as when you free Illidan at the end of Nighthold and Malf and Tyrande are right there yet have nothing to say.
Uch, I hate that so much. Why is it so hard to spend just a little bit extra dev time to make sure that doesnt happen.

That ending of the Nighthold is something to remember. Biggest blast and smugface Illidan absolutely destroying Gul"dan. Even throws a killing end line, only for all to just stand there, breathing heavenly, staring into the void. Everyone was there and no one said a word.

Some one on discord: " was that it?" "What now"?
Some one else: "fuck it, just hs out"

They are so bad at these rp things.

The point is that they could easily throw in a zanda ship for repressentation. They just dojt do it for some reason. Lore reason dont hold up.

Just think, Marvel. Thats even what Metzen said. Since this is a saga of three, Tww might be the intro, leading into the battle we lose, only for us to push back and get ready for the final fight, which we will win.

Its blizzard.. its wow, 12+game dont overthink it. People will come up with the wildest theories( uch uch Sylvanas and the tree) only for us to find out it was always the obvious route. Just dont stress about it, even if its super simple and obvious as we all thought, not worrying about it atleast then you can still enjoy it as it is.

Check the trailer, she looks much older there then she acts or sound like in game. Like some one said, all those scars and what not. It feels very off. You would expect some one like that atleast mid 30.

Hmm, we know she was a child when the Arathi arrived. How well can we date the existence of Hallowfall?
We know they arrived there more than a decade ago so likely 12-15 years ago. We know Faerin had to relearn how to use a sword which suggests she was already trained to use it yet at the same time she keeps calling herself a child back when the accident happened and that makes limited sense (sorry but no one can possibly be trained in swordfighting before puberty. You just cannot build the muscles to lift a sword when prebuscent).
Combined this would suggest she is in her mid twenties. Thirty would be pushing it; the mage would have said they left nearly two decades ago, not "more than a decade ago" if he meant they left 16-19 years ago. And Faerin cannot really have been more than 13-15 else she would not be described as a child when she came to Hallowfall by literally everyone, herself included.

Also, someone who has been at constant war for more than a decade would probably be scarred. And no idea what artificial light and an unbalanced diet would do . . .

Even within the ones that sound robotic there is massive variance. On one hand you have Brinthe who sounds robotic, but still with some life. On others you have some of the quest NPC in the Ringing Deeps who sound like they were told to read as flatly as humanly possible.

At least we have the Nerubians. The Vizier talking about how they will run out of spies during that one dungeon put it right up there with some of the best meme lines from dungeons.

Don't they say that they left the Arathi Empire 15 years ago? Faerin was also supposed to be the only child given she was a stowaway on what was supposed to be a purely military expedition.

I mean, even with this knowledge it still feels off. Maybe its just the trailer that makes it seem like she is older. She looks like she has been through some shit. Sure, its possible, but you would also simply expect some one like this to be a little further. I guess your explanation does make sense, especially calling some one one a child, which cant be much higher then 15 ye. In my mind 17-19 can still be considered a child, but here it would be a teenager then, which is not what has been said. I dont like its a guessing thing tho. Unless you talk about 21+ or even 25 +.

If someone is a child at 17, a lot of people failed them. The Arathi sounds like a militaristic society and Faerin was nobility, she'd be expected to act an adult very early. Yet everyone thought she was a child back then. If not for the "learning again to fight with a sword" quote, I'd expect her to be prebuscent when she stowed away. It wouldn't be notable to call someone who was 16 a soldier in a society like that, it would be normal.

What the hell are we talking about. She's a 30 yo woman with a high voice, like most female voice actors. Like 90% of children in cartoons are voiced by real adult women. We know her age from her backstory.

I think this makes the most sense for her character I guess.

Tbh, I noticed I actually clicked accept and didnt bother many times, so I might have missed a portion, but does she call herself child or some one else talking about her?

She is 30 ye? Thats something I just assumed, because of her looks. Was her age said somewhere? Also missed that then.

I just cant... with these high pitched voices anymore. It changes the entire tone and makes it sound childish in the wrong ways.

That being said, I hope chromie will never show up anymore because of that. Dead serious, hated her voice and character.

I wouldnt go that far tbh, 17 can still be a child in my book. Child could be used in differnt ways. Wow likes to use that word for many.

Anyone getting "black screens" on the prerended cutscenes? Every one so far has played about halfway through then cut black; I can still hear the audio, can press escape and skip/not skip. But I obviously want to watch the cutscene so my only course is to close the client and start the game again. And this works, it's just inconvenient.

On topic: just watched the "Awakening Day" cutscene. Bit of a cliché "Join me! Together we can conquer the world." moment there but got to see Alleria void-gut-punch Xal which was neat. Was a bit tedious seeing Alleria constantly think she could just shoot an arrow at Xal and end it there - ESPECIALLY during a ceremony.

Am thoroughly enjoying the story so far, zones have been lovely to look at, the <Stay a while and listen> conversations are nice touches, almost every character changes dialogue after every quest and that's nice for story telling.

Was concerned that there was no Nerubian "zone gear" like the other renowns/zones have. But now I've realized every zone uses the generic Earthen armour/weapons through quest rewards, it's the renown/zone activities that give the cool stuff. Still odd that there's nothing from Azj-Kahet in that case. All there is is that 3 piece "set". Maybe we'll get some in patch content if we help the nerubians rebuild.

It is a bit of a shame that we don't get a proper Nerubian themed set. I floated the idea back when we knew we would get tier sets, and I still wonder if it would have been better if the first raid sacrificed class tier sets for higher quality dungeon and questing sets. And that the raid sets would be like what we got in BfA and SL with a themed set for each armour type.

It should be that the Unbound speak normally and the others speak like robots, but I'm not sure how consistently they've stuck to that.
