I don't think anyone hates this, but based on what FFXIV devs have said, the majority of players won't participate and they'll be burdened with adding more house decorations every expansion.

And based on what devs from other mmorpgs have said and develloped, the majority of players would participate. It depends on how it's implemented. If it's made even decently, it would at worst be as popular as tmog (since it scratches the same itch).

That goes both ways for literally everything they could possibly add, to be honest. There's plenty of people that would love it, plenty that wouldn't care for it in the slightest and surely some that would complain about it taking up resources with some of those groups being more vocal than others. That's just how these things are. Claiming there's more people on any side is always going to be useless guesswork unless Blizzard says otherwise. It is a useless discussion to have.

I agree. I'm just pointing out that it's 100% not just some universal slam dunk. It's as controversial a feature as anything else.

But seriously, Transmog happens entirely passively (or at will if farming for something specific) and is ALWAYS with you, a part of you. Housing is personal, maybe you’ll be able to invite someone into your “apartment” but.. who cares? Housing =/= transmog.

Guild Housing/Hall where you were able to curate a space for a group of people could be cool, personal housing is just lame fluff imo.

Housing is not as big as people make it to be (c'mon, shop things? even more popular transmog got just few sets). For sure it will work more with casual people, probably that why it's so successful in ESO - it is only relevant group there, in WoW progression people are loudest.

But Guild Housing is completely ridiculous idea. What would guild actually do there? AFK and admire carpets? Train for raid? xD Personal housing at least has collection/completionist aspect, with guild no one cares because you can change guild next day.

Class Halls make more sense, but they have to put actual content for every class there if feature will return. In Legion it was mostly unique story (done after week even including filler chapters), mission table (gone since DF) and borrowed power (gone).

Still I think both housing and class hall return are expansion box features (I predict housing in Silvermoon for Midnight and Tinker/class halls for Last Titan), I will be very wrong if it will be announced tomorrow.
