Also breaking news, 10.1.5 launches july 11.

Ion confirmed that is coming back as an evergreen feature in an interview.

I mean i remember you said the same thing about modern wow being childish and disneyfied a couple weeks ago so it seems you also have a huge problem with wow's modern writing if that post was anything to go by.

You are correct. I have a incredible issue with the PC/woke take on modern lore.


This is a game about war at its heart. The travesties and deep dark themes rooted in war. We run around butchering all forms of life and commiting a multitude of war crimes over the past two decades. That is the basis of this game, I do not understand why people who aren't fans of this feel the need to insert their bullshit into it and force change to fit their world. I don't go to another franchise and say "this needs orcs. Make orcs now or it's bad" I simply don't play what I don't enjoy.

The modern writers are pretty horrible. Especially compared to those who left. WC1-Wrath was the best this game ever was and likely ever will be. The previous writers actually had talent, I do not care about the irl issue that happened I'm not defending their actions but their actions don't change the fact this game was once extremely well written for its medium. I can in fact dislike bad shit in IRL and in fact enjoy the game they created.

I enjoy lore like Warhammer 40k, I love movies like "the sadness" and the comics like "crossed" and "black gas" it doesn't mean I support terrible shit IRL. A functioning adult can differentiate between the two. Just like I love espionage movies yet do not enjoy the fact that 9/11 happened.

Reality =\= fiction. It's that simple.


The original writers and artists who birthed this franchise were exponentially better in ever single way than who is now at the helm of it. It's undebatable.

Lore was better. Settling was better. Music was better. The fantasy was better.

The ONLY thing that has improved over the years is basic game play and graphics, both of which are only better due to better technology. The new devs are for the most part trash but at least a few are still trying to keep the game how it once was, grounded in a gritty dark fantasy setting with an abundance of deprave acts to be found that give you the hero a actual reason to hate the villains of the franchise.

It's the extreme minority of modern soft fans and the ABSOLUTELY woke new devs who are destroying and degrading this franchise. Systematically destroying what is the soul of this game with each removal or retcon.

There is a reason classic wow is growing in player numbers yet again despite modern wow having much more to do. It has to do with quality. The quality of modern wow is sub par in its best moments and absolutely abhorrent in its worst. The best writing they have right now is when they bring back something from the past, such as neltharion or even sindragosa which at its best is fan fare and pandering. Every attempt at a original idea over the past 6 years has been a failure.

Usually X.1.5 was time for stuff like this. Since 10.1.5 is basically 10.1 part 2, pretty obvious this time 10.1.7 will have BfA timewalking, Brawler's Guild and spliting megadungeon. Also I hope for toy that unlockes map on Dragon Isles and catch up gear similar to 10.0.7 cause sets looks awesome and this time I will have all classes ready from day 1.

I think 10.1.5 might have some catch up gear already from time rifts or something, at least i saw 2 recolored sets on PTR, one was called "valhalla" something and other one was a recolor of arathi warfront.
But i might be wrong, since i didn't go deep on PTR and they could be just cosmetic.

Edit: nvm, these 2 sets are cosmetic.

I assumed Murozond was imminent and he'd be a bit of a problem. I just hope theres good Infinite Dragon stuff and well Murozond isn't permanently dealt with(Even in a megadungeon that'd be well not what I'd want). I haven't seen the PTR though.

Peace, love and friendship aren't serious subjects? I don't see you rambling about that being poorly written. I don't know about you, but i hardly get emotional from these so called "dramatic" cutscenes. Meaning, they do a bad job in them too. The conclusion is they need to to improve in all areas, not just "heavy" topics.
