If we are getting ethereals next, my money is on either some form of spellblade or a void-based class. Either would work with ethereals, Quel'thalas, the Midnight theme and void/blood/high elves.

There is perhaps a difference between possessing a World Soul and becoming a Void Titan and outright eating it. We know they can do the latter but they needed the Old Gods to do the former. Heck perhaps different Void Lords have different goals. Maybe Dimensius is just fine with eating World Souls while other Void Lords want to find a way to use one to permanently manifest in reality instead of temporarily stay there as long as there is something to eat to keep them anchored. Maybe what we are seeing is a Void Portal and K'aresh is not destroyed; it is stolen to the Void.

But yeah, I don't see K'aresh as presented in that still as a place we explore similar to Argus. Could be that Rootlands is the zone and K'aresh is the raid with the Worldcore shown but not used in this expac and saved for TLT.

My real question when it comes to K'aresh is the timeline. Xal has been trapped on Azeroth for millenia now. Did Dimensius attack K'aresh before the arrival of the Old Gods on Azeroth? Because Xal has been trapped for well over 25 thousand years.

This could be a possibility. We know now that K'aresh's native people received visions like Azeroth's Radiant Song. That would strongly imply a worldsoul present.

I've thought about that before: K'aresh having a Void corrupted worldsoul cooking up in the pot. I suppose it would make sense for us to deal with that corrupted worldsoul before an expansion called "The Last Titan" launches.

That creates a disconnect between what we have been made to believe about the Void Lord's goals. If their #1 goal is to find and corrupt a worldsoul into a "Void Titan" then it kind of makes no sense for Dimensius to show up and just... eat the planet.

    Unless, of course:

1.> The Void Lord's goals, as we have been made to believe by Warcraft Chronicle's titan perspective is false (maybe they believe it to be true, but not in actuality)
2.> Dimensius acts separately from the Void Lords?
3.> Some other explanation that I cannot think of at the moment

It could be that Dimensius attacking K'aresh happened VERY LONG AGO. Like, before the Void Lords created the Old Gods. So it was a test run on how they could manifest on the material plane, it failed and then they created the Old God scheme. This would mean Xal'atath could have even been on K'aresh since it would have happened before she got trapped on Azeroth. Heck it could have happened before the Pantheon was created, perhaps K'aresh was OLDER than Aman'thul.

Or alternatively, the Void Lords are not of one mind. Which makes absolute sense given that the Void is all about individuality.

We're really just saying things about void lords with no substantiation, huh? I know we've been told the void is about individuality but its also the cosmic power that constantly totes mind control, so I think the void is actually just a liar.

Can't fault that reasoning. But for gameplay and for the narrative, having the Void Lords not be a hivemind and actually have multiple fronts is better. It also makes sense with the Old Gods who were constantly on each other's throats.

    Guys, you are losing it.

    Of course is K'aresh.

Often, the simplest explanation is the closest to the truth.

We have an Ethereal. Where are Ethereal from? K'aresh.

We have a Void Planet. Which Void Planet do we know? K'aresh.

Why the hell the Ethereal would go to another planet?

More importantly, why Blizzard will show us another planet of which we don't know anything about and of which we don't care about?

What are we looking at then? Avaloren? Come on guys.

And for those that believe that it would be just a raid, you are losing it too. K'aresh is one of the most anticipated zones of the game since TBC. Some players will be mad because we will just get a zone/s and not an expansion, but at the very least we will get a zone.

Hell, people still complain about Argus and the Emerald Dream being just zones when they could have been expansions.
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.

To be fair to me, I never said it was another planet. I was just musing about the Void swirly vortex not being K'aresh.

Operating under the assumption it's not K'aresh and another planet, yes I agree. But that's not what was being said.

What are we looking at then? Avaloren? Come on guys.
I'm going to refer you to the "Speculation" portion of this thread's title.

So, if they design new housing bits with dyeing in mind, does that mean that we may very well see that system for (new) transmog aswell?

In the past, the point why we don't have it was that in wow, stuff is designed differently (basically, they paint the textures for each recolour by hand or something) so they couldn't do it (and won't for older stuff, as confirmed by the housing post). But it seems like, atleast for housing, they now use new tools or a different method that makes it possible (while still fitting with the artstyle of the older stuff).

Would also mean either a big change of rewards structure, or they could restrict specific dyes as rewards (which would be a Blizzard thing to do haha).

We actually know more void planets. We know Telorgus (which likely is the Void Planet Sargeras destroyed but it has never been confirmed) and we've seen an unnamed Void Planet in Star Augur Etraeus' fight. We also know other planets Dimensius tried to attack; Karkora is one and T'uure stopped him there.

That is of the assumption the radiant song is from the world soul, and not from a secondary thing close to the world soul, like beledar for example. Something that other might have "falsely" identified als calcified world soul essence.

It is still my longest standing theory about the radiant song, that it doesn't originate from the world soul, but from beledar. And let's remember, the vision of Orweyna about the "world soul" was right next to the beledar.

The simplest explanation when Azir took the dark heart from Gallywix was: Azir works for Xal.

Which turned out to be false. The simplest explanation is often only that: simple. But simple doesn't equate to truth.

I wasn't talking about you specifically, mate. In fact I agree that the Void swirly vortex could be a number of things.

Nice idea ! Hope that Blizzard reads your post. It would be cool if we start to get pieces of gear that we can finally customize.

I guess that I should have said Void Planets that actually matter? Telorgus is where the Void Elves are, so highly unlikely that they have that giant Void swirl right next to them without noticing. The Planet that Star Augur Etraeus could be just a vision of what might happen, not an actual planet. The other two are so unimportant and unknown for most WoW players that I won't even take them into account, and I doubt that you seriously do, to be honest.

The simplest explanation when Azir took the dark heart from Gallywix was: Azir works for Xal.

Which turned out to be false. The simplest explanation is often only that: simple. But simple doesn't equate to truth.
Not quite the same IMO. In fact, several people here called that Azir wasn't working for Xal'athat. If Azir would have said something like ''And now I bring the Dark Heart to Xal'athat'', then it would have been the simplest explanation, but if was kind of suspicious from the beginning.

And to be fair is not quite the same to make a cinematic showing you a Void Planet, the only one being relevant to the story as of now being K'aresh. That one is a little on the nose, especially if we bear in mind that the Ethereals have never been more relevant to the story, not even in TBC. They have the Dark Heart. They are another player now, another threat that we have to seriously consider.

You seem to ignore the part right before Azir takes the heart, what Gallywix said to Azir:
I was just about to send that on to Xal'atath.
    Repair work's all finished.
Not holding out or nothing, I swear.
People here, were directly pointing towards this and that Alleria says:
Gallywix was repairing the Dark Heart for Xal'atath. But it seems she lost her patience with him and sent the ethereals to collect.
And this very forums, many, like you claimed: the simple answer is the true one.

So, being skeptical about the "simple answers", shouldn't be too surprising.

My point remains. Azir didn't say a word when he took the Dark Heart, and as I pointed out, we are talking about very different things IMO. Suspecting Ethereals, which has always been mysterious, versus showing us a Void Planet, the only one possibly relevant at the moment being K'aresh.

Does anyone expect Sargeras' sword to come into play at all btw? Since it was featured in the cinematic for TWW but so far we have seen nothing to suggest it may feature lol

Well, the planet is likely K'aresh, or in its area (moon perhaps). The question here is more, what it means, and how things are looking strange (my post on the last page).

I think the most recent info about the sword was that it will take relevance during the saga, but not during TWW. So, likely in TLT with sargeras return.

I guess that Sargeras was aiming at the Worldcore when he stabbed Azeroth, and that most likely until TLT or maybe until the last cinematic of Midnight, we won't see anything about it. If I have to guess, I see two options:

    - Sargeras will wield it against Dimensius.
    - Azeroth will wield it against Sargeras.

I can also see Sargeras using it against some warrior-version of Aman'thul (I predict he will get a redesign of some sort as a grandpa in a blue robe isn't cool enough). It would be cool if we got a Titan vs Titan fight in space and I can see Sargeras ironically helping us, if only to save Azeroth.

Not seeing that stuff until the very end of the saga.

It's important to note that the Burning Legion was formed to stop Azeroth being contaminated by the void, but it was his own fanatical vision of doing it.
The most likely outcome from this, as Azeroth is radiating all the different cosmos, he saw the Void part of her, put 2 and 2 together and made 5.

There's absolutely a redemption arc from this, but how it will play out is wayyyy too early to say.

I've long thought that Azeroth herself would take up the sword at some point, so I still think that'll be what happens.

Even with Sargeras returning, I don't really see him being a good guy, so I don't think him just yanking the sword out again would be all that good.

Dunno. Allowing armor dyes would make selling the same model in two dozen different colors in TP to seem like more of a ripoff than it already is.
