I would like K'aresh to be 11.2. Rootlands could be cool, but between Ethereals and Harranirs, between a Voidy planet and something that could very well end up being a mix of Tanaan Jungle and The Emerald Dream... The right choice is clear.

Moreover, if K'aresh is 11.2, Midnight would be more of a mistery, as we would not have any idea of what the patch zones would be (hopefully old zones revamped).

I think the name was always intended to have a dual meaning. Inner turmoil and conflict of Anduin and Alleria was a major plot of the initial campaign. You can even argue the same for Gazlowe during the revolution of Undermine.

Midnight and the Last Titan will probably follow the same convention as well. In Midnight I think Azeroth will be literally plunged into darkness save for Quel'thalas and figuratively it will represent the darkest hour of the trilogy.

But even if K'aresh is 11.2, people are assuming there's going to be zero link back to Azeroth. That's something we really just don't know yet.

That's what I'm excited about. I really don't think Quel'danas will be a full patch zone (maybe a minor patch) as the theme is too similar to Eversong, even if it gets voided out. So I would love going into Midnight not having a clue where we'll be going after the Quel'thalas recovery tour.

Stratholme? Gilneas? Naga zone? Undercity? Nathreza? Who the hell knows. Could be Plunder Isle for all we know.

I feel Hallowfall already delivered what Rootlands would thematically. Green zone with an inner sun concept. That said I do expect some resolution to the Beledar and the Black Blood and I don't see how that will happen in K'aresh.

The youtube video is about an in-game WeakAura replacement, which is nice. I think they will reveal more in a blog post.

Combat assistant and a chat about addons? Interesting, seems that they are really preparing the game to hit consoles.

But I want the full reveal, please.

Hekili in game wasn't on my bingo.

I definitely did not expect a one-button rotation mode.

Yup. I don't think they can do K'aresh without focusing on what happened with its worldsoul and tying it to ours.

There was a suggestion a few pages back that we could get a raid where it's a 3 way battle between us, the Ethereals and Xal'atath for the Dark Heart, focused around the ruins of K'aresh and the Worldcore. That feels pretty possible.

But the main thing I think we're all ignoring is that these stories will bleed over into Midnight in major ways. I don't think we should expect to see our only bridge into 12.0 during 11.2.7, similar to DF > TWW, the conclusion of the raid in 11.2 will almost certainly include the inciting action into Midnight. So something will end up pointing to the Sunwell, something will end up pointing to Quel'thalas, something will end up pointing to the Light. I don't think we'll just have a big fight with some Black Blood monstrosity corpse and then get a 30 minute questline pointing us towards the Sunwell in what is being pitched to us as a brand new era of storytelling in WoW.

Also not expected! More Arathi is incredible!

Last two reveals, K'aresh and this have done a great job at curving expectations.

Personally I prefer Worldcore in TWW and Karesh in Midnight, I dislike disjointed expansions. Could live with or without Rootlands.
BFA pivoted from trying to be an old god/naga expansion into a mix of faction war that at the same time was dropped in the middle, so it was like a constant pivot. SL scrapped one big patch with Anduin as final boss and tried to salvage what they could of sylvannas in the end after blizzard's cosby room cleansing with a shit plot. DF set up Tyr and the oathstones and then dropped them after the base patch, it also pivoted from killing malfurion, making Ysera return as full aspect and Wrathion becoming an aspect as well.

I think this points to Beledar being the zone, somehow. Maybe the Ethereals want it more than they want Azeroth. Xal was sucking it into the Dark Heart after all..

I had just said on the last page that 11.2 will need to bring the Light into the fold in some sense-- this is way more than I expected lol. This could be another situation similar to the Seat of the Triuumvirate, with the Ethereals looking to harness the powers of a Naaru for their own purposes.

My firing from the hip guess at the story beats for 11.1.7 and possibily 11.2 is that we will learn more about the connection of Mereldar and the Naaru and why the Arathi have built their culture so closely to that, with some sort of reveal about the truth of Beledar and it's implications for the Ethereals/Xal'atath. Say a Naaru is inside Beledar, they could be looking to convert it to the void and fail, and instead turn to the Sunwell which also holds a piece of a Naaru.

OH RIGHT- LOL, I forgot that they already wanted a Naaru. And that is the most likely thing inside Beledar outside of Xal'atath herself. Who could still be part of that naaru for whatever reason.

Legacy of Arathor is the name of 11.1.7.

Neat, might be related to Beledar then? Idk

With the video about UI today being 43min… I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s our stopgap till further info next week… I’d happily be surprised, but that’s a long video.

Anyways, think we'll get a full proper reveal today?
