Eh, I wouldn't go that far.

But appreciating WoW for "mature" storylines is basically the equivalent going to a renaissance fair expecting a genuine historical experience when in fact, it's just a Walmart LARP.

Like, I love WoW and I always have. But at least I can admit it's a guilty pleasure. Stupid, childish, and testosterone-filled fun.

It's the kind of fantasy my 10 year old self would marvel at and go: "this is the deepest, most well written piece of fiction there has ever been".

And that's fine. It's OK to love dumb things. Comfort food. Escapism. Pure fun.

    Edit:

Wow, 11.1.7 is visible in the launcher!

    Edit 2:

Ooh, shiny Springtime Pet Pack in the Shop. Must. Resist. Won't. Ever. Use. Them.

    Edit 3:

The Wings & Wisdom Pack ravens are actually really pretty, wow! I'm not a huge fan of the lapel-thingies they have going on, but it's yummy nonetheless.

    Edit 4:

Apparently MoP Classic Beta is happening, too?

You know, the nods to Medivh... i mean, we expect since Legion that Medivh might show up sometime soon. We had that transmog from the tradingpost for some time, now the recolors for the colors of the younger medievh... and a white version.

Shop Mounts were always used as somekind of foreshadowing for new expansions, more or less accurate...

So, Medivh showing up during the Saga? If we assume Sargeras shows up again in TLT, it would also be a great point to get Medivh back, especially now that Khadgar might be out of the picture.

the trading posts sets name was "of the Guardian" refering to his role as the Guardian of Tirisfal, the new sets are "of the Prophet" which was Medivh during WC3, and "of the Archmage", which... isn't a direct name given to Medivh i think. Only once mentioned by a Season of Discovery NPC!

I would love a good twist. It would be very cool (imo) if Sargeras and the Legion returned in the midst of the war between Light and Shadow.

    1. His sword is right there, ripe for the taking.

    2. Sargeras is very much alive.

    3. He represents Disorder, and I can't think of something more disorderly than a prophesied war between Light and Shadow over a worldsoul prison made from Order suddenly being disrupted by an onslaught of demons.

But, it might also play out way differently. Perhaps Medivh returns and his story comes full circle as he finds a way to summon Sargeras to Azeroth, not to destroy it but to save it.

Oh yeah, patch week, time for some quality posts.
Which other raids did they release that they forgot to turn off Plunderstorm spells which led to bosses being exploited not once, but twice.

You're either new to the game or you're actually 1 of the workers but they're paying you in WoW shop credit as they were known to do under Kotick. Speaks volumes when both Liquid and Echo called the tier a shitshow.

No no, this is a very well thoght out post. In hindsight the stuff like an Ogre usinga finger gun and making Scarface references while jazzy music plays is actually factually terrible. No player ever have wanted to be in the middle of a fight being a cyborg gorilla and mecha dinosaur >

Hopefully the next raid will finally be good again. With such standout bosses like a regular model ethereal who does some basic mechanics while background muzak plays.

Oh so the Dinars will not work like in DF, you get a Hero Track item (but Hero Track is extended to 8/8)
Looking forward to everyone losing their minds that the dinars will not give them Myth Track BiS.
if this is a six week event for 11.1.7 that's probably the additional content for it, working together with Turbulent Timeways. Warbound Valorstones is excellent and I wish it stays beyond the event (and with a bigger cap).

Also first time I am truly tempted to buy a shop collection that is not on a heavy discount.

Definitely not a great look when it came out this late. But if we assume it will show up earlier next raid, then it makes sense that it works like this. Wouldnt want guides like what we had this season where players were told to hld out on crafting specific items just because they would buy BiS items at some indeterminate point in the future.

I would rather not have Dinars and also have properly balanced trinkets so the same one is not BiS for the entire raid and having very rare items only be BiS for very specific builds instead of more than half the melee or EVERY SINGLE PLAYER. The only reason Dinars were sorely needed this season was that Undermine's loot table definitely reminded you that this raid is literally a casino. Personally I don't ever feel the need to have BiS. But I do mind it if BiS is leagues ahead of second best. This season you are looking at your vault every week hoping for that tiny chance for a Myth track trinket from M+ while also waiting to see when that very rare item does drop from the raid for which you are maybe in the middle if not the bottom of the list . . .

the dinar change is garbage. blizzard is really pulling random shit with this patch. maybe they're struggling with producing content since they're also working on midnight but idk if what they're doing is working

Still surprised they didn't at least add a Robe for this set, feel so weird that they would double down with the decision of not having a Robe for this set.
I no longer reply to quotations beyond if you're asking a genuine question or have a non-confrontational stance.

Should be a full transmog set.

Bothewring with dinars gave them more problems than ignoring them. Before no one expected this system outside bonus season, now people are pissed they can't buy mythic item without killing mythic boss.

Whole thing looks like expanded QoL changes we get every midseason, probably stuff like removing conquest cap will come same time. Valorstones changes is nice, should be thing from day 1 next season.

As for 11.1.7, I really don't expect anthing spectacular. Next catch up event - sure why not, but let's not pretend that casual alt gear isn't raining from the sky already this expac. If anyone is hungry for more WoW for some reason (personally I always said 5.5-6 month per season is perfect length), there is MoP Classic.

Oh this is an excellent expansion for alts for sure (and so many +xp events). Just saying, they always seem to add some form of catchup with these so I kind of expect one.
Personally, something that takes you back to Khaz Algar from Undermine by buffing Khaz Algar rares like the Dream events from 10.1.7 is what I'd expect. Probably linked to the Void.

they should have at least reduced the requirements to get them. this feels bad when compared to how they were in s4 of dragonflight/shadowlands

on 11.1.7, i expect it to have no content at all. maybe a little questline. that's why dastardly duo is coming almost 2 months after the release of the patch

The roadmap says Story and Quests AND New Content. I expect what's on the roadmap.

As for the Dinars, they should have just not done them. It was a crazy thing to add if they were not willing to commit. If it had to be added then they should have had a much clearer plan and communicated it from the start.

Alternatively, never add an item like Best-in-Slot again. And make sure that the best trinket list for all specs is not the same 4-5 trinkets.

hmm, if i assume that the medievh set is a hint at whats to come, a robe might be to spoilery for it. Remember the BfA map that was on some cloth armor in legion?
Like, if the robe looks like something that relates to titans or sargeras

when they say "New content" they mean no relevant content, just something little. if a patch has a new feature they usually announce it

back to dinars, they swung the too much in the opposite direction. i get that dinars mid main season can't be the same as dinars in a "fun" season but this feels too much. 5 weeks to get both of them is too much. what's the point of adding them?

  20. #88840
I've always been under the impression that going into a void-themed Legion expansion we'd finally encounter Medivh again, and I think they've been breadcrumbing that a lot lately with Trading Post and now Store items.

If 11.2 does end up being K'aresh, I wouldn't be surprised if that's where we meet him, and he becomes a major character going into 12.0. Otherwise, I'm sure we'll encounter him later on in Midnight, and I wouldn't be surprised if they're looking to play with the dynamics between him and Sargeras in The Last Titan. I think it's an awesome opportunity to really close out these chapters of WoW, if that's what their goal is.
