I think Mediv probably is going to be our exposition character for Cosmic level information. He is traveling the universe and finding out things no one on Azeroth (except Azshara and maybe some people among the Arathi) know.
I'm going based off of his "I'm needed elsewhere" flying out to the Nether from Legion. The Void and the Legion are somewhat linked together as well, as the Legion's purpose was to stop the Void from creating a Dark Titan.
I think you're right that he's far more tied to Sargeras than he is to the Void/Midnight, but I think if/when we go to K'aresh, he will be a sort of cosmic tether for us.
it was strange that Medievh would leave us in Legion, right when Sargeras was on the way to us. But what if, Medievh was the reason that Sargeras was only a cloud around Azeroth for such a long time, before he could stab the planet?
We don't know how far away "elsewhere" really is meant to be. It could be the outer edges of Azeroths solar system. It could be the moon (which would fit color wise the blue/white set). It could be as far away as K'aresh, or another dimension like the Shadowlands.
don't think we're going to get a ptr today. they just launched the mop classic beta
Oh hey, the Fyrn pet finally made it ingame.
I don’t understand why they always feel the need to be smart instead of going with what they know works. Dinars in DF were perfectly fine and no one complained, yet they decided to go with a silly system like this? Beggars belief. Bet they change it due to complaints.
Past Store Mounts and Expansion Hints
Blizzard has a track record of slipping subtle (or not-so-subtle) hints into store mounts that vibe with the next expansion’s aesthetic or story. Here are the standout cases:
Mists of Pandaria to Warlords of Draenor: The Enchanted Fey Dragon (dropped in MoP) had a dreamy, dragon-like look that screamed Shadowmoon Valley’s faerie dragons in WoD. Coincidence? Maybe, but it fits the mystical Draenor vibe.
Warlords of Draenor to Legion: The Mystic Runesaber (released in WoD) is a dead ringer for Nightborne mounts in Legion’s Suramar zone. Its arcane, panther-like design practically screamed “elven magic incoming!” Some say it could’ve fit other arcane themes, but the Nightborne connection is strong.
Legion to Battle for Azeroth: The Stormwind Skychaser and Orgrimmar Interceptor (from Legion) were faction-themed airships, basically shouting “Alliance vs. Horde war!” They nailed BfA’s faction conflict theme before it was announced.
Battle for Azeroth to Shadowlands: The Vulpine Familiar and Sylverian Dreamer (BfA store mounts) had ethereal, foxy designs that screamed Ardenweald’s nature-afterlife aesthetic in Shadowlands. These are some of the clearest hints Blizzard’s dropped.
Cataclysm to Mists of Pandaria: The Heart of the Aspects (from Cataclysm) had a serpentine, dragon-y look reminiscent of MoP’s Cloud Serpents and Chinese mythology vibes (like Huang Long). It’s a looser connection, but still intriguing.
I guess we'll see Medivh in Midnight?
I'm down with Medivh showing up in Midnight. His presence could even off-set the disappointment I'd feel if they brought Sylvanas back.
But really, it's Velen who should be brought back. You can't have a Light vs Void expansion without the Draenei. It can't ALL be about Elves and Humans.

Also Midnight deserves to be a 3 major patch expansion, but alas.
Agreed with Velen. But I think Medivh should be saved for TLT or at worst, come at the very end of Midnight. He should be there to do the major Titan reveal, not to fight the Void. He has never been narratively related to it.

Why? What would be the four campaign arcs? You have Quel'thalas, you have the final fight vs the Void and we will probably have a fight vs the Light shoved in. What would be the fourth arc?
I mean, he's dead. I think its just a case where he can't affect all that much and he burnt most of his power during Warcraft 3
Shoehorning the Light into the middle of those two is going to be a mess (to say nothing of what precisely Quel'thalas entails), there's stuff they can do. Zul'aman's obviously got its whole thing, you've got enough Scourge for a bit of a thing there, or just, y'know, the whole 'how we gonna get into space' problem
I am expecting some Scarlet Crusade content in Midnight tbh.
I could see them going to Avaloren (or wherever the Arathi are) to try and convert them.
But given every zealous light user we’ve seen has either been from an AU or under the influence of a Dreadlord I wouldn’t be surprised if Lothraxion would be behind it.
New leveling event is pretty shitty. Just 20% XP bonus and 2 random chest a day. So it didn't encouraged me to XP in world at all, still only way to level alts will be timewalking. I guess it will give me something to do next patch.
On the other hand reputation buff is nice, just doing weekly + few rares gives easy paragon chest a week from every TWW rep.
Yeah I really do not understand Blizzard's aim with this leveling event.
The XP bonus is almost irrelevant at this point. We can level very fast without them, and who does not have plenty of alters anyway.
The chest could be a nice incentive if they were treated differently. Just make them drop plenty of cosmetics of the expansion in which we are leveling. Also give every chest a 0.5% chance of dropping a rare mount and everyone would be leveling.
Instead Blizzard give us potions and fireworks... There are thousands of cosmetics and hundreds of rare mounts. Use them !!
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.
Well, this whole decision is a mystery that we'll will never be privy too.
Its' why we just have to accept this Game Model and hope that they stay laser focused on their core storyline rather than being ADHD and going all over the place even then they will have to contend that the abrupt ending nature of their products due to the lack of a middle ground may feel terrible regardless.
Ultimately, we just need to cope that Midnight not being a mid-production mess leads to a laser focused and the first successful utilizing this more shortened Game Model product by just having the team focus on the epicness of the concept rather than drowning it in too much at once. (Alarmingly, this concept is so grand and large that it is kind of impossible to see them be able to thread the needle. But oh well. At least its a good concept for a expansion even if it is done poorly.)

I no longer reply to quotations beyond if you're asking a genuine question or have a non-confrontational stance.
I am really wondering why you are all so overhyped about Midnight. Like, I don't know if they can actually deliver the level of hype some of you people are projecting even if they deliver something on the level of MoP or Legion. And I am not seeing them deliver beyond that level.
We don't even know the story or the full extent of the setting yet. Most of the expansions that had four (not counting fated) seasons had at least one season that was completely filler when it came to the story and/or quality of the raid (heck Wrath had TWO).
