Well, I don't see this "unknown" (Unknown characters, Unknown McGuffin in the A Plot) issue going away anytime soon. They just can't really do anything about it. At least, it feels that way.

I really liked the Base Expansions Story until the Dark Heart got damaged and realized they were just going to use the Dark Heart to circumvent the entire concept of The War Within by using fan favorite locations to get us to Midnight. It just felt a bit cheap.

Undermine(d)'s campaign was also pretty great even if again there is the issue of lack of context on some of the characters actions and happenstance.

I just worry that the A Plot will continue in this extremely slow fashion with no characterization and no real events taking place that can refuel the enthusiasm for the franchise.

I wonder if they reimplement those titles or not in 11.1.5, its interesting how it feels like they just had to let go and move onwards to 11.1.7.

I am hopeful that we do get a more finished Cooldown Manager in the next updates since I do really appreciate them trying to at least make the Base UI good enough.

Once again same "worried about the state of the game" peeps suddenly activating here when retail is starting to have any kinds of trouble (11.1.5 mild reception).
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

This probably doesn't apply to me, or you misunderstood me. My bubble was burst back in BFA and beginning of shadowlands. I just don't have it in me anymore and the story that had me hooked was taken to the back of barn and shot in the face. Whatever that has been happening since is the continuous defilement of its corpse and while tragic it does make me stare in morbid curiosity couple times a year.

There is just so many other games out there like BG3, KCD2 and now Clair Obscure that are more interesting and enjoyable to spend my time on rather than... whatever WoW is now.
Still getting flooded by WoW adds though wherever I go.

Seems like you acknowledged WoW isn't for you anymore yet keep returning. A bit bizarre don't you think?

Why? I go about my day for many many months and one moment I remember wow still exists and I am curious what's happening.
You never get curious about something you used to like or are nostalgic about?

people underestimated how many people played the start of shadowlands, and now they're underestimating how many people play tww. game is far from dead but blizzard needs to manage patch releases better. having so many bugs at the start of every patch is starting to get annoying

You literally came into this thread saying

"Is the expansion almost over? I am so checked out"

There's a difference between being curious and whatever you are doing. Bit sad.

I feel like Blizzard needs to communicate better. Both the backlash to the timegating and the Dinars would have been prevented/subdued if they just told us at the start of the PTR cycle rather than the end.

Because I didn't follow it, I got to a point and stopped playing... maybe fall last year? Hence I checked out.

sure, but the bigger problem is how rushed content seems to be. I've seen people ask blizzard to slow down with the patch cycle to polish the game more. personally i'd rather have some bugs than a slower content cadence but i see how annoying every patch having issues and low effort events can be. i think them trying to deliver faster expansion is a bit more than they can chew

So you're so checked out despire not even actively playing (for several months) and by your own words, just casually checking up on the game due to morbid curiosity. Again because you aren't really invested in it anymore except for nostalgia.

I mean, you know everyone sees through this very poorly veiled "wow sucks" rant, right?

    So... here is what happens.
New expansion gets announced. I buy it, sub for a month maybe two lose interest because after BFA/Shadowlands something feels completely different as I play wow. Then other games start pre-occupying my time and in between the expansion and the new one I check out. I didn't think my life story would be so interesting to you all but there you go.

Shadowlands was the best-selling videogame on release until Cyberpunk 2077 came out if I remember correctly. Shame that the expansion was a complete disaster. They lost a big opportunity there to bring new blood to the game.

I believe that TWW is doing awesome. 90% of the playerbase don't give a damn about story or narrative, which are the main topics of this post. DF did pretty good too, but man, it doesn't matter at what time I play, there are so many players around in TWW.

I feel that the Trading Post and Delves are such a humongous win to the longevity of the game that are not praised enough.

i get what you mean, and maybe it's time for you to move on. it's not like you owe wow (or wow owes you) anything

Yeah thats what I think, the new stuff dont hook me, the older characters while they annoy me I am still interested to see where they end up.

Not sure I can do that with the next one being silvermoon, nostalgic area for both my WC3 days and early wow days.

tww was doing awesome, but now i think it has fallen flat a bit. .5 patches haven't been great. also, these seem to be less story/main narrative than there was in previous expansion despite the fact tww is supposed to be part of story heavy trilogy.

Story wise I agree. It is a weird feeling because they clearly need to introduce more story in the game, but at the same time, I don't remember being so interested in the lore since BfA (although I really enjoyed the Incarnates in DF).

There is potential here, but they need to explain who Xal'athat really is and what are her aims before Midnight. It is okay to leave some things for the future like the Arathi and the Harranir, but such important things as the villain of the expansion, the Beledar and the Black Blood need to be dealt with soon.

there's still time for that but i expected story wise from this patch. patch 10.1.5 was way batter than this one, both content and story wise.
