Seems we likely only saw the Small and Medium Human Houses. I think we got a glimpse at a Night Elf House in one of the preview images, but it's in the background, and idk what size it is. Regardless, I hope Large plots aren't limited to Night Elf and Blood Elf, but based off the Orc preview, I imagine they won't be. A Human Mansion would be peak.

I believe they're including both options, giving you the option to be off to your own as well. Its a really thoughtful system.

And re; your housing sizes comments, I think the Night Elf home shown in the background of the footage is what I'd consider a 3rd size!

I'm also going that route, for what it's worth. Planning on having a generic tavern-based room, with separate rooms for all my characters who will simplt be housemates with eachother.
Players are gonna find ways around this VIA having separate rooms for different alts. Watch

My argument is more-so the fact I don't want the third option to be limited to Night Elf or Blood Elf. I want to have a Human Mansion

I think we will be able to have a Human Mansion, and I think they're just hiding both it and the other housing racial exterior options.

I don't see any reason why it would be. I wasn't suggesting such, just confirming there does seem to be larger sizes. I wonder if we'd get the tavern style exterior as well.

Someone did say they saw a house with a different roof color, so at the very least, we can change the color of our housing exteriors, which is nice.

i wonder if were gonna get the option to authorize another player to edit our house for us, so we can have player driven interior decorators for hire or even the ability to let another player use your plot for one of their alts or something

  7. #90887
Dunno if we'll have different housing baselines for the sizes tho. I think, for now at least, it'll start off at 1 housing base per size.

So Dratnos mentioned someone creating a Belf and Nelf themed floor but I thought we only get Human and Orc at the beginning? Or are we going to be able to customise the house to be more Belf themed for example but we just can’t have it near Silvermoon yet?

This was something that was talked about in various recaps (can't remember which specifically). I believe there was a bit of... hesitation at this sort of idea as it has a high possibility of leading to account sharing and account buying, etc.

Taliesin showed off a blood elf themed interior. I believe there's quite a few to choose from off the bat.

Yeah, the interior walls and floors have several racial themes. The exteriors also appear to (going off the nelf house in the background on the b-roll), albeit are likely largely NYI/not ready to be shown off.

Does seem like it'll be 3 size options each race, which is cool!

    Shack, Cottage, Mansion.

Given that houses are much bigger on the inside, I have to wonder whether the exterior/lot size actually affects how much room you have inside the house. It doesn't look like there's room to put huge houses in any lot in some of the scenes from the video (like the major street in the human area), and it'd feel pretty bad if you want to build a guild neighborhood but there's only a few big lots to fight over.

Maybe that'll be the vague progression system Preach mentioned- you can unlock the ability to add extra rooms and items somehow, to build up to the massive interiors previewed.

It doesn't. Housing exterior size is primarily there to flex on others lol.

Basically, it's like "haha, look at my decorated to shit mansion, meanwhile you're stuck with a crappy shack cause you're broke".

It's basically this but with Housing Exteriors

Based on what I've seen, the inside and outside are completely disconnected. You should be able to have a six-story house on the inside of a 1 story shack.

What hasn't been covered at all is how they'll resolve people fighting over the waterfront (or otherwise desirable) plots. Blizzard has already talked about private neighborhoods, which could either be solo (and therefore you're in a mostly empty instance) or with guildmates/friends. In public neighborhoods, we'll have to see if it's first-come-first-serve, if you can skip to the next neighborhood, or how they'll handle that.

i assume youre gonna pick the plot you want first and then be filled into a neighborhood where that plot was open

That’s good to know. Wasn’t really hyped about housing as I thought it would only start with Human and Orc themes but knowing this makes me a lot more interested!

The emphasis on going back to older zones is also a nice addition tbh. Will definitely be going back to Karazhan for some flying books.

Hypothetically, what would be the best class(es) lorewise for an Ethereal? Probably Priest, Mage, or Rogue?

Priest would kind of depend on what energies they would allow us to customise with. Ethereal are generally made of arcane, but they can infuse themselves with other energies, right? Obviously we've seen them infused with Void. But a Light Ethereal would also be cool.

Priest (shadow, disc), mage, warlock (specifically Voidwalker-flavoured), rogue, and hunter (I think we've seen some with warp/void stalker pets) all basically already exist. Monk makes a lot of sense aesthetically, and the samurai-inspired models make me think a warrior would work just fine. Light-infusion would make holy priest and paladin very sensible, and I could see a Fel-infused ethereal being a great candidate for a non-elf demon hunter.

In other words, it's really just druid, shaman, evoker, and death knight that I don't really see for them, based on existing lore.

We're about 85% through the wait from Midnight's reveal at BlizzCon 2023 to its full deep dive at Gamescom 2025. Pretty exciting!

While I had hoped the hype machine would have kicked off sooner with 11.1.5 and 11.1.7, clearly that did not happen.

But surely 11.2 has to bring the thunder, right? Whether it's K'aresh, "Rootlands", or something else, I just can't see the next major patch failing to get the Worldsoul Saga going more properly.

ethereal demon hunters would also make sense with void spec dh to bring void elves into the gold as demon hunters, giving us 4 DH races and a non elf option for the elf haters while helping bridge the hardest gap to making void elves/blood elfs into a unified neutral race as would make sense in midnight

we also already had some teases of void elf paladins in the harbinger quest line fwiw
